    Pros +

    • This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The reception staff warmly welcomed us with complimentary snacks, and the attention to detail was exceptional — even pajama sets were provided in the room. Everything was excellent, and the location was very convenient as well.
    • Nice lobby with good coffee and bread/pastries 24/7.
    • Perfect spot for my 3 night stay in Kyoto! The room was very comfortable and the perfect size for me. Along with that, the bathroom was also a dream! The shower was huge and the vanity was very nice! There are also light snacks in the lobby as well as juice and coffee. When you check in, they will give you a bottle you can use and keep after your stay. Pick a record to play on the record player while you’re there!

    Cons -

    • Maybe, it was a policy, but new set of towels were too many for us!
    • Everything was great and the price was really reasonable since it was off season. I imagine summer will be quite a bit more but I think it will probably still be worth it.
    • One size pajama set was too small.

I reserved the room for myself but my daughter decided to come with me. By the time I tried to upgrade the room the rooms were all taken . As a result, we stayed ina smaller room. It was a bit too small for two of us. As always, the staff were nice and facilities were clean. Thank you.

Maybe, it was a policy, but new set of towels were too many for us!

Cafe latte from machine was surprisingly good, plus free juices and pastries and wine and beer for a price. Nice places to sit in the lobby and the staff were super nice and helpful. Room was excellent. Toilet separate from the shower room unusually, which we liked. Plenty of lights and outlets. But a major, major plus was the location. Three subway stops from Kyoto station. Tourist areas, shopping, within easy walking distance. Manga museum very close if that's your interest. Quite international clientele.

Everything was great and the price was really reasonable since it was off season. I imagine summer will be quite a bit more but I think it will probably still be worth it.

very modern hotel, quiet rooms, free drinks and snacks.

Croissants available at any time were delicious!

One size pajama set was too small.

Great base for exploring Kyoto. Rooms are nice and breakfast is very generous (actually available 24hours).

Great location, super clean, nice amenities

    Pillows were too hard

The room and bathroom were very nice and clean. We loved the lobby lounge area with snacks and drinks available throughout the day. Breakfast met our expectations, but we would have appreciated having some fruit or yogurt to go with the breads (we bought these at 7-11 around the corner.) Used the free bikes one morning which was fun. Luggage storage was efficient and appreciated. All staff were very friendly and the hotel has great ambiance.

Our one complaint is about the laundry facilities. One washer/dryer is not enough for the size of the hotel with so many foreign travelers. It is very difficult to find a time when the washer was available, especially when you are out of the hotel all day. Trying to get our laundry done became extremely problematic. Please Insomnia, add a few more washers and dryers!

Good location, nice staff and relaxing place to come back to.

    8MatthewPosted on: 11-27-2025

    - clean- great location- easy access to public transportation - snack and drink options and quality in the lobby/lounge

    - only one washer/dryer on-site

    10StaciePosted on: 11-24-2025

The rooms were spacious and the location of the hotel was ideal. We stayed at three different hotels during our stay and this was by far the best. When I come back to Kyoto, I will be staying here!

Consider all the room size we can get within our budget is very limited, we really enjoyed staying here since the common amenity at the lobby area. Free drinks and snacks 24/7, good collection of boardgames and books are also available. We don't have to snug ourselves in the not too big bedroom all the time. Perfect locations with accessible nice restaurants.

Loved the separation of toilet and other bathroom functions. Especially loved the closed off, modern tub and shower. Twin beds were very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location to transportation is excellent, restaurants and stores.

Laundry facilities are not adequate but there is a good laundromat down the street. No breakfast but coffee/tea/juice and some baked goods always available.

Providing complimentary drinks, pastries and snacks in the lobby along with games- opportunities to select and play preferred music. It was a nice gathering space but you could also take the food to your room. (Alcohol drinks needed to be purchased but all the other food and drinks were free) The hotel was ecologically conscience. The staff were helpful, efficient and kind. Everything was clean and well organized. We do not speak or read Japanese but the signage plus the way things were layout and organized it was easy to figure things out. The bedrooms had good lighting and the shower was fabulous. The location was also a plus - it was just off main thoroughfare on a quiet street - a couple blocks from a subway stop and also walkable (1pm-3km) to a few of the popular sites you might want to visit

The rooms are small (as others have mentioned). I was the only one in my room (2 twin beds) so it was fine with me but I could see how it might not work so well with 2 people and 2 large suitcases. I think there were other rooms that were larger but I only needed a small room

We loved everything about this hotel, from the superb cleanliness to the friendly staff, the living room-like lobby, the location, the coffee and the snacks. The room was super comfortable.

    10VeePosted on: 10-26-2025

It’s a great location right next to Shinjuku station.

No coffee (other than in the room) unless you buy the full expensive breakfast. Also the bar closes at 8:00pm.

So nice to have coffee, juice and all the breads in the lobby. We liked the 500 yen beer, wine, sake vending machines. The lobby space itself was a fun place to relax. We enjoyed the LP music the staff played. The staff was very nice and attentive. Very close to subway which made getting around easy.

I absolutely loved everything about our stay! The price was incredible for the room we received—it felt like such great value. The staff were friendly and the service was outstanding. We were pleasantly surprised by thoughtful touches throughout our stay, especially the 24/7 complimentary pastry and drinks station available to all guests.Compared to many other hotel rooms in Japan, ours was huge—spacious and comfortable in every way. And the location? Absolutely perfect.I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

i don't have any negatives about this stay i loved it a lot.
