Travelodge Kyoto Shijo-Kawaramachi

Hotel and location was great. Close to everything. Very well designed hotel with good lighting in room.

Mattress and pillows leave a lot to be desired.

The room was very small and didn’t have many places to put any clothes when unpacked. If there were shelves or storage it would have been much better

Close to a lot of things to do, restaurants, bars, shopping. Walking distance to a lot of places (The Philosopher's Path and temples around there. Only a bus ride from the bamboo forest and temples in that area and a small walk and train ride to get to the thousand torii gates). We got to explore more of the city on our last day as our luggage was cared for in the lobby at the hotel.

Our bathroom had a mild remnant urinal smell the whole time we were there, we could not get rid of it no matter what we tried.

Very good location, walking distance to lots of things, and laundry on site.

The shared bathroom on the first floor was a little stinky but not an issue bc there's private bathrooms in the room, and it was very clean and a good size!

Great location by bustling main road & many restaurants & easy walk to Gion & attractions nearby.Nice efficient reception staff. The room was small, barely had space to open our suitcase but well designed

Breakfast was very disappointing, very few options and mainly breads. Our room smelled like food (from the restaurant downstairs?)Bathroom shower appeared clean but smelled strongly of urine (perhaps from ammonia based cleaning product?) so we sprayed the shower off. The room was very hot because the hotel preset the heater and we could not lower the heater to adjust temperature. We had a quite hot sweaty night in the middle of the winter!

The location was great in terms of food and shops nearby, but nowhere else in Japan are motorcycles more obnoxious than on this street. A more soundproofed window would be nice considering how loud traffic is. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

I REALLY didn’t like how there were only TWO laundry machines in the hotel. They were also very small. I also have to pay to use laundry in a hotel I’m paying over $100 a night for? My pillow was also dirty when I arrived.

Great location, friendly staff.

Rooms are very small, even with a bigger bed size, shower does not quite get as hot or as good of pressure as we might have liked, only sink is in the bathroom so coffee or tea must be made out of there, and the hotel is so big with so many rooms that it can be noisy.

The tech is abit dated, no capability of casting. The air controls dont seem to work

The room wasn’t clean, it had stains and marks on the carpet and hair in the bathroom **but when I sent them a message about it they immediately asked if I would like to change the room which was a much cleaner room**I also really didn’t like the smell at the entrance of the hotel from the connected restaurant, it was so strong every time we walked in it made me nauseous .

Very conveniently placed in central Kyoto, near Nishiki Market, subway stations and bus stops to go kinda anywhere you'd possibly want to go. There's a Don Quijote very close by and a pretty cool Izakaya

Wonderful staff service. And their pajamas were the best!! Very close to many shopping areas.

I saw some long hairs under the mattress cover. If that could better inspected.

The bed was comfortable, but the outside street noise on the weekends is a little loud , but wear ear plugs and you should be okay. Location was great walking distance to the Gion Geisha district and the Kenning temple , Yasaka Shrine and the Poncho alley. Transpiration is very easy for taking the bus or train for the hotel.

The room is on the small size for 2 peoples luggage and I wish the shower was a walk in not a tub shower and more space for your toiletries.

I really like how it was in the center of the Kyoto city, just a few steps away from the onitsuka tiger shop. Very accessible and everywhere we wanted to go was either walkable and very close to the train stations.

The room was soooo small, I'd only recommend the standard rooms for couples or solo travellers. We couldn't even open our luggage properly bc of the tight space.

Very friendly and helpful staff!!!! We borrowed a charger and converter from the front desk.Clean and great location

Washing machines kinda smell and never got a chance to use them. People were always on line, even in the middle of the night. Breakfast was less than basic ( coffee eggs salad some sausage) but also not expensive.
