OMO5 Kyoto Sanjo by Hoshino Resorts

Hotel room had a simple design layout but not your typical Japanese size. The lavatory was outside of the bathroom. Bathroom had a soaking tub with tiled walls and floor with a skinny shower stall and toilet. The two twin beds extended the width of the room with a wired glass window looking out onto an adjacent building. Hotel was near the City Hall station, Kamo River, and Pontocho Alley.

Carpeting rather than wood floors would be more comfortable for your feet. Better air conditioner controls for temperature and vent direction.

Nice lobby with free evening dessert and coffee.

Location was the best. Adjacent to Bal department store, near Uniqlo/Loft and within walking distant to Nishiki food market.

I didn’t like the fact that they clean your room every 2 days. There should be an option for that. I’d prefer to pay for them to make my bed everyday.

Great location and walking distance to some main touristy things - Gion, Pontocho alley and great shops and restaurants nearby. Walking distance to train station. Decent sized room and bathroom. Soft beds for Japan standards (which was nice)!

Small modern rooms and bathroom. The location is great, close to transport, cafes / restaurants and the shops.

There was nothing that we did not love about this hotel. Location was convenient right next to a large market, uber pick up, and most of the instagram famous eateries like Kichi Kichi.

Very clean, facility is quite new. Location is very central with convenient stores downstairs, close to great local restaurants and proximity to major tourist attractions.

The room could be a bit larger, but it is already very decent size compared to typical Japanese hotels.

The bedroom was big, compared to the others in Japan. The shower was amazing! The location was perfect! Close to many many shops!

Their TV doesn't allow to connect to our netflix account. There were no English tv channels.

We enjoyed everything! The staff are the most friendly and helpful, the location is ideal and I loved the room, bed and beautiful, spacious bathroom. I loved the breakfast too - Italian style and a nice change from the traditional fare
