Staff were extremely helpful. Room was comfortable and felt like home. Great guides for exploring the city. Although we didn't go on the free tours I thought that they were great offerings.

Such a very Cute hotel in Gion. We loved baking and having fresh bread in our room. They bought us beautiful tamari sushi. Look at the website -they have many activities and games in the lounge area. Many shops abound both sides of the street. We were amazed and happy. Staff was exceptional!

We have nothing negative to say.

Great location in the heart of Gion, super convenient transportation, places to eat and walk all around. Bed was comfortable and room was spacious... loved this hotel!

Very comfortable accomodations, doing laundry was easy and right near transit and sites.

The room was so large and unique, and very quiet despite the busy neighborhood.

The staff is super nice and definitely have to check it out for the early tour. It is super nice to walk around with someone know the locations. The little kitchens in the room definitely a bonus for us since we have a little one.

The staff was sincerely helpful. The room was practical and perfect for our needs. The location was wonderful, with a variety of shopping close by and a wonderful shrine and park essentially across the street. This hotel was perfect for our first stay in Kyoto!

This hotel was great, the location was absolutely fantastic. The room was comfortable, staff friendly.

Excellent location in Gion. Staff were helpful and were willing to provide us some recommendations for food etc. Managed to comfortably fit two of us and a suitcase each plus extra baggage. Although it's paid laundry facilities, very handy to be located at the hotel.

One negative was the noise from the traffic lights and crosswalk outside. Was a little annoying as could be heard in the morning and will disturb light sleepers

On arrival, we were handed instructions on how to use the bread maker in our room that would make the bread for the breakfast we had paid for. Breakfast, we learned, was the bread we were meant to make and a tray of condiments in the fridge. We set the bread machine up as instructed and were woken at 4am by the banging sound of the machine kneading dough. Suffice to say, the smell of fresh bead, tiny but loaf and array of cold, bizarre, and franker unappealing condiment did not make for a viable breakfast for four people. Fortunately (or so we thought) the next morning was to feature sushi. Little did we know, that this breakfast would be a cold, hard, and disgusting selection of sushi balls. Our whole family is well versed in sushi and eats it regularly, but none of us could stomach what we’d paid for, leaving us to go and buy a second breakfast elsewhere. To add insult to hunger, the hotel failed to provide coffee bags for the second day because apparently these only come with the bread you have to make for yourself.Aside from the most bizarre, inedible and inconvenient hotel breakfast we have experience in 25+ years of regular international travel, the hotel was good.

Room was cleaned every other day, they just took out the trash and changed the towels. They had a sink and a kitchenette but didn’t have cleaning utensils. There was no drinking water provided in the room and we had to decant from a machine in the lobby. Apart from the location, this is not value for money.

The ambience, the smells, the hospitality. It really felt like I was in Kyoto. I was staying with my 9-year-old daughter and at all times we felt safe and taken care of. No question or problem was too hard.

Main entrance access by stairs, because I was traveling with baby stroller, i need to pick it up to get through. Meanwhile there is a wheelchair elevator at the back entrance but I guess not much ppl uses it, since it always covered and off.

Making bread in our room was a highlight! Tatami room had very comfortable beds on the floor! Yasaka Shrine—lit up at night—is across the street.

Room was more of a suite in the Japanses style, with tatami matt lounge area, dining table with sunken seats and kitchenette. Very spacious for the price, very well designed and comfortable.
