Kyoto Hot Spring Hatoya Zuihokaku Hotel

The location was very convenient, the onsens were nice and I used them every day during my stay.

The window in my room had a draft despite drawing the curtains and the paper blinds.

Close proximity to Kyoto Train station that has Onsen. Bonus points: very friendly staff, accommodating, helpful. Rooms are big and clean. Bathroom toiletries have Shisheido products

The room was very nice: good size, nice beds and sitting area. And the onsen was lovely. I really enjoy the experience immensely. I have experience onsen before. And, it was nice to be able to go whenever I wanted. Onsen hours 6:30-9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.-12 a.m. We just spent one night and I went to onsen the evening we checked in and before our 7:30 departure. Highly recommend. We did not experience food options as we were there for such a short period of time. By the way, there is a vending machine on the 8th floor where the onsen is, so, milk purchase following onsen is available. There is also a microwave and vending machines with additional drinks.

Wishing we could have stayed longer. There was some hair in the bathroom, so cleanliness was slightly off. However, not a deal breaker!

Great location close to train but also very quiet. Beautiful, spacious, clean, & comfortable room. Hot spring & meal options. Efficient staff.

Can’t think of anything I did not like

Clean rooms and spa. The staff was friendly and helped us when we needed it. The location was ideally close to Kyoto Station.

The slippers provided for the rooms were very uncomfortable. I understand they're one-size-fits-all, but the rubber actually hurt my feet. Its a minor complaint overall.

We didn’t take breakfast here, because of lack of atmosphere of the eat-hall.

Great location, just a few minutes walk from Kyoto Station. Super friendly and helpful staff - for example when we lost a backpack they helped us figure out how to (maybe) find it back. The Annie Hall whisky bar (not associated with the hotel, but right in the same place) is great, and the onsen was excellent - spacious, clean, well stocked.

Breakfast options were sparse. We did not have dinner at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that. The room was a bit on the "snug" side with 2 individual beds and 2 futons for our family of four.

Location and the onsen !!!! It was nice to go to the hot springs after a busy day!!

Staff Hardly speaks English, very hard to communicate. No Closet to hang your clothes. Chair desk looked like a stool and desk was so small. Only 1 news Channel in english

The location was close to dining and shopping locations.

Not as many conveniences as other hotels. We were provided with only one large towel per person and that was to be used for bathing as well as using the onsen. Washcloths were packaged and disposable. It was inconvenient that breakfast required reservations

A friend who did not want a drink in the bar could it sit with us without buying a drink. A service charge was made on our drinks bill.

Hotel location

Very disappointed with Booking.com and hotel, booked for 4 adults and 2 children; some how the booking was mixed up for 2 rooms and four person, hotel charged for 2 person at much higher rate!! Will take up with booking.com. Very upsetting experience.

Great location very close to Kyoto Station. Best spot to start and finish the days of sightseeing.

Cleanliness of our room. 1. Mould in patches on the corner ceiling and along one side of the ceiling, also in the shower. 2. Dust gathered in tiny balls on the walls/ceiling from the air conditioner vent. There was a layer of dust on everything daily. Could hear street noise especially the pedestrian crossing sounds which were constant. Extremely limited laundry facilities (2 washers, 2 dryers for entire hotel).

No better location for a typical Japanese-style hotel with an onsen facility. It's less than a 5 minute walk from Kyoto station so we had access to all the buses and trains for day trips and getting around the city. During our stay, it also felt as if we were the only American tourists which was refreshing. The tatami rooms were clean and spacious.
