Location: It was less than 1km away from Kyoto Station so it's walkable. There's also a nearby subway about 500m away if you don't want to walk that far. I find this location very convenient and useful especially because I got into Kyoto from KIX and all the buses and trains were already closed.Room: The room was clean, odor-free, and the bath was the standard Japanese-hotel bathroom. Basic amenities were covered such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothbrush and toothpaste, bath towel, razor, hair dryer.Breakfast: Served every morning buffet style.

The breakfast is a bit limited and repetitive, but still tasty and filling. The room is a bit more cramped than I am used to, I found it a little difficult to open my large luggage.

Loved everything about this hotel.The location was excellent 5 minutes walk to kujo station and one stop to Kyoto station. There is Lawson's combini 2 minutes away and a 7/11 five minutes.An excellent cafe right next to Kujo station.The staff were always welcoming and helpful. Love the free bath salts which I used every night after being on my feet all day. Cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. Loved staying here and would highly recommend it.If I return to Kyoto I would definitely stay here again.

Can't think of anything I didn't like!Actually the pillows were a bit hard but seems to be standard for Japan.

The breakfast was really healthy and tasty. The place was also very clean and artsy as well.

Yes, it is close to bus and metro station, but some of the streets are very dark at night. I know it is safe, but it is something to keep on mind.

Small rooms were a bit tight for a 6 foot tall person.

Really loved this place. The rooms were a bit more spacious than other places I've stayed at in Japan. The staff spoke very good English and we're really helpful with moving my luggage. On site laundry was great. Close enough to the station. The hotel itself is beautiful to look at with the lobby being a pseudo gallery.

It is a bit of a walk to the station compared to my other stays at Japan. If you are into the late night convenience store runs. The closest is Lawsons and its on the smaller side and the next closest are maybe a 5 to 7 minute walk.

We didn't like the cleanness of the hotel.Breakfast area was exceptionally clean, but room and hotel facilities, let's say, could be better... Location is a bit challenging. It took us 13-15 min walk to nearest metro or bus station.

I think the location was very good, it was between Kujo and Kujo Metro stations. Once you figure out the subway, it’s very easy to get everywhere.The hotel is very thoughtful — since they assume you’ll be walking a lot, there is a little corner prepared for you with salts and essential oils to rest your feet when you return every evening.They put water in the room daily, and there is also a machine on the 1st floor where you can get free water and ice.You can wash and dry your laundry for 100 yen.

Only on two days of the week the bar was closed.

Room was a bit small and looked a bit old or poorly maintained, but all was functional. Breakfast was scrumptious but not as varied.

Excellent staff, room and location. Walkable everywhere if you like to walk, as we averaged 30K steps daily.

Maintenance needs to clean bathroom air vents and AC, as this was their only fault.

It is a bit far from the Kyoto Station. Also the room was really small but everyone loved breakfast and art works in the lobby. Staff work there are very kind and helpful.

This hotel is adequate, but I wouldn't stay here again. Everything is decent and I had no real complaints, but it wasn't at all a "memorable" experience. I would say that the breakfast, which was tasty and nutritious, stood out more than anything else.

I actually booked this hotel because of it's "art identity"...but the art on display was rather juvenile and disappointing. It left me cold and unimpressed. I imagine the owner is sincere about this "identity" for the hotel, but it feels like a gimmick to attract tourists when the art itself is uninteresting.

Staff was very friendly, spoke well enough English to check us in. And if you have any questions just use Google translate. Rooms were cozy.

Accommodation tax? Not sure if its booking.coms fault for not including it but it should be.

Although it’s officially a three-star hotel, the service and hospitality were truly five-star quality. They offered the best breakfast you can find in Kyoto. My room was equipped with air conditioning and even a dehumidifier to keep the air fresh and comfortable. I also appreciated the thoughtful neighborhood map they provided, which highlighted local sightseeing spots and nearby restaurants. The amenities were excellent, and the location—so close to both the bus and subway stations—was incredibly convenient. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

Great location close to the train station. Nice size of the room, comfortable bed. There's a bath in the bathroom and you can get complimentary bath salts at reception.

Generous sized room, lovely bath, excellent breakfast (including freshly made sandwiches for each guest every morning). Excellent room cleaning service and very friendly reception staff. The hotel itself is conveniently located and has a quirky charm (lots of computer games in the lobby area). Highly recommend!

The only disappointment was the garden adjoining the room which was slightly overgrown.
