Our room here was the biggest out of all the hotels we stayed in Japan. The bed and pillows were soft, and we loved the tatami mats. It came with free breakfast, and a hot tub on the first floor. Guide book in the room was very helpful for seeing Kyoto.

Cons -

There are only 2 laundry machines for the entire buildingl
The location was decent. It was slightly far from the main Kyoto station, so we had to walk 20 minutes to catch the JR line or we had to catch the bus. But it was very close to the randen station, which was helpful.
