Beautiful hotel!

The location was fantastic. Beautiful view of the lake a far away from the mad crowds of Kyoto. The staff and the service was unbelievable for the price by far the best accommodation hotel service we experienced in Japan

Location and the views were lovely. Large spacious room. Breakfast was very good.

Breakfast area was a bit busy. But good food.

Great resort hotel, very friendly staff, great views. Has shuttle to JR station. Stayed in off-season, so it was not busy at all.

We stayed for one night before returning our rented car to Kyoto. Arrived late but one of the restaurants was still open to serve us dinner. Onsen is open till mid night so this wax also nice. We enjoyed our comfortable stay

Cost and lack of activities.

The hotel is facing the lake and has such an amazing view and such a quiet territory. I had the best few days and a very good night sleep.

I hope they can provide a private Onsen service in the future.

Nice lake view and spacious

TV is a bit small and outdated when compared to the room size

All rooms have lake view. Easy access to the lake cruise. Free shuttle bus between the hotel and the nearby station (every 20 min). Great variety of breakfast buffet.

No eateries near the hotel unless you drive, so you are forced to eat in the hotel.

Proximity to pier

The check-in procedure wasn't well executed. I arrived early that day and I was totally fine not having early check-in (as in most cases of Japanese hotels), the morning check-in involved a lot of signing of documents and payment card processing. And so I believed the check-in was completed and I would get the key card promptly in the afternoon. When I returned in the afternoon, there was still much to be processed for check-in and it felt like a fresh check-in procedure. It was very frustrating to have wasted the morning time doing the check-in.

The inside of the facility is hot. I mean the air conditioner is weak. It's very hot here in Japan rn so we wanted to have a cool place to stay in but unfortunately the room didn't satisfy us.

From the free shuttle from the train station to the last bow by the lobby concierge in front of the hotel, our stay at Biwako Hotel was beautiful, luxurious, and magical. Service is world class. The property is gorgeous. The location is outstanding. The food is excellent and memorable.The Biwako Hotel is apparently a popular location for wedding parties and is indeed as romantic as a hotel can get. There is a rooftop pool and observation deck where we watched the lighted fountain show (every evening at 7pm). Special mention to the gift shop staff who were especially helpful and friendly.We chose to splash out a bit on the room and got one of their 40² meter apartments with balcony. Wonderful, luxuriant, comfortable.

Cannot think of anything at all.

Beautiful veiw and spacious rooms. The staff were lovely. Only a 10 minute walk from the nearest train station but there also appeared to be a shuttle bus as well.

Very good room, a bit too expensive. I was disappointed that people with tattoo can’t use the hot bath.

The room was beautiful with a view right on the water. The breakfast was a typical buffet, but managed well, and the food was good. The staff was attentive to our needs.

The restaurants on site we’re not particularly good. They were overpriced and fussy. I would recommend that you go outside the hotel for meals in the evening.The onsen was very nice and I was impressed with the security they provided on the women’s side. However, the water was not hot enough on either day.
