Super Hotel Kyoto Shijokawaramachi

The staff people make you feel at home the moment you step in. They provide complimentary afternoon drink and especially their natural hot spring spa is absolutely a plus. In addition they are located in the central area of Kyoto, convenient to get around

Location was truly amazing, not even 5 minutes from Nishiki Market, several train and bus stations, and great nearby sites. You'll be able to travel almost anywhere in 30 minute or less, food/stores nearby are great, and the staff spoke English!

The room itself was incredibly clean, but the bathroom did have a few flecks of dirt. Far cleaner than almost every hotel I'd stayed at in America but not a perfect score.

The location is great. Easy to get to everything we wanted to see with a quick walk or train ride.

Great location in Kyoto! Very comfortable, they even have a pillow library. Loved the onsen and free sake happy hour after a day of walking around the city.

The location is very convenient. The hotel is clean

Very small room and half of it filled with table. With no possibility to open the window felt like a cage. I barely could stand up and turn around in the bathroom (shower and toilet are together). No restroom in reception! If you are after a long road - find another place before you check in. Very confolusing check in - supposed to be self check in, but didn't work so well. Breakfast was the same every day, nothing for kids, but sweet pastry..

Fantastic stay at Super Hotel Kyoto Shijokawaramachi! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very well located—right in the heart of Kyoto and close to shopping, restaurants, and transit. The staff were warm and welcoming, and everything felt well organized and easy.The daily happy hour was a wonderful bonus and a real highlight of our stay. It was such a nice way to relax in the evening and unwind after a full day of sightseeing. Great value for money overall, and I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Bathroom entirely too small. Carpet had stains in the room smelled awful..

Location is great - it is close to shopping and tourist center. Taxi could not reach the hotel, and taxi driver had to drop us off the main avenue in front of OPA center, so we could walk via a small alley way to the hotel. When we arrived hotel, there was NO ONE at the front desk (while quite a lot of guests were waiting to check-in) which was kind of strange. Staffs could put on more smile when greeting guests. It seems that they were exhausted. Bathroom is EXTREMELY SMALL AS IF YOU WERE IN CRUISE SHIP - you will definitely bang on the bathroom enclosure all the time. Breakfast was mediocre, though not impressive - adding more japanese style dishes would help.

Cruise-ship liked bathroom is so crampy. Staff can be more friendly and should smil more.

The breakfast was fantastic with fresh food and a variety of options. Very kind and considerate employees. We loved the location walking distance to nearby market and sites in Kyoto.

Convenient Kyoto hotel with amenities. Great breakfast options! Happy hour drinks! Luggage storage! And you can pick your own pillow!

Laundry. As instructed, we added our money to the machine only to discover that someone’s laundry was already in the wash. Elderly Japanese guest was more sympathetic than the hotel staff.“Automated” check-in needs help but check-out was great.

The Location

Staff (some of them not all but that was enough), onsen (dirty and small), no comforter cover, only a sheet under the blanket.

Super hotel is the best! The complimentary breakfast is incredible, the staff is super kind, the spa room is rejuvenating! The location is also incredible - near all the great downtown Kyoto action.

Convenient location and clean hotel

The choice of goods offered at breakfast wasn’t quite healthy, with many danish pastries and fried goods. Would have preferred better food options to start the day on a lighter note (perhaps with some oats, yogurts or fruits)

It's right in the heart of the action (Kyoto), the staff is service-oriented, the breakfast is delicious and varied, and the lobby is full of amenities (pillows, soaps, lotions, popsicles) that you can take and use.The room was satisfactory, and the staff helped me send my suitcase to the next destination.Highly, highly recommended for anyone visiting Kyoto.
