Kyoto Garden Palace

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff (Front Lobby, Driveway Attendant, Waiters and Housekeeping) was friendly and helpful whenever I voiced a need. I would stay here again. The Imperial Palace and Gardens is just across the street.

Lovely friendly staff, great location - nice quiet neighbourhood close to Imperial Palace and gardens, very quiet and peaceful. Room was comfortable and clean.

Could have had some brighter lighting in the bathroom and bedside.

The staff were very nice and efficient. The breakfast room is lovely and food is delicious. The location is fabulous (you need to walk a bit from the subway, but doable, along with being an easy spot for walking, taxi, etc. Also has parking). With jet lag an early morning walk in the green park is so great. Nice old school moderate Japanese hotel.

Room and decor could use some updates. Unit bath is pretty small.

It’s nice and cosy. The hotel robes are beautiful, just like traditional kimono. There’s a park and a temple nearby.

There is no cutlery in the room.It’s a little bit far away from JR station, but walking around the area is good. And there’s a bus too.

Clean rooms, professional staff, nice luggage storage area. Location is good but a little bit of a walk to food places. We were able to walk all around Kyoto from here. Lots of room to sit outside you room.

Was not able to control the air con as the room had central heating and was too hot. Was able to turn it off in the room but it was still warm. Not able to stream to TV, only public TV available.

I liked the fact that the hotel did not feel overcrowded. Good bed and pillows.

Not too busy, check in fast , 10 min walk to subway that goes into kyoto station

No light switches in room , key in = lights , have to take key out to turn lights out , no aircon controls, hot in room couldn't turn heat off, windows locked. Bit strange

It was ok, but could use a remodel. I thought it was going to be nicer than it was. Location isn't close to restaurants or the center of town. The lights in the room are difficult to control using an electronic box that is very clunky. Maybe I'm getting old, but what is wrong with a light switch?

The rooms are comfortable and clean. It is nice to have an onsen in the hotel. The personnel is very kind and always available. The hotel is next to the campus and several restaurants are nearby.

Big hotel with spacious rooms. Excellent location, very close to Marutamachi Station, you can get from there to Kyoto station very quick, which pretty much takes you anywhere.The hotel serves japanese and american breakfast for an additional cost (discounts for guests tho!), which are great value.

Stay was great,only issue was that the hotel doesn't have a laundry room,but theres a coin laundry very close to make up for it.

Efficient, courteous staff. Great room with comfortable bed and excellent bathroom amenities. Great location across the street from Kyoto National Garden and close to subway stations, coffee and restaurants.

Parking staff was amazing at directing the cars. Overall, staff was great.Good location.

Our room was small, but it was what we expected. With only a kettle, instant coffee was option. It’s nice to have brewed coffee available.

The room was a good size for a Japanese double room, and the staff were friendly and helpful (they spoke good English)

There’s no on-site laundry service, and the nearest coin laundry is quite far away. It’s also not really near any major train stations (my bad for not checking more closely)

It is a goog Hotel with big and comfortable rooms located in front of the Imperial Palace.

There are no restaurants or cafes near. It is far from central Kyoto or the Gion. As the nearest subway station is at a distance of 800m, it looks too expensive.

Quiet! Quiet!! Close to the park

1) Wifi- very very slow. 2) no heating at night (not sure they don’t do the heating in the middle of the winter. But in early November, when it rains heavily, they said they don’t have heating. 3) dusty - they don’t see the dust on the wall. Very dusty and dirty (photo included)

The Location was Ideal for me has my show was right next door. Before my shows I manage to walk round Kyoto Imperial Palace and grounds, well worth the visit
