The rooms were awesome - clean, minimalistic, well maintained and just adorable with a ryokan and local look and feel. Absolutely loved our stay here. The location was also perfect, close walk to Gion machi and yasaka shrine ( that place on full moon night was magical) and yet secluded enough to not feel super touristy. The room we booked had a fridge and coffee station but no microwave.

The hotel doesn't have any other facilities or areas to explore - not much garden or outdoor space, no restaurants, gym or spas, no business areas.

This was the second time I stayed here. It was just as memorable as the first if not better. The rooms were wonderful and the hotel is very convenient placed near many attractions but not in a crowded street so it's fairly quiet! The stuff is really polite! The tatami room is really really really nice and the lighting and decor is excellent!!

great location! absolutely beautiful rooms, and the staff was extremely helpful. We are so happy to have stayed here.

A large and comfortable room with everything you need. But a little lacking in sockets. The room is large and accommodates 3 people perfectly, we lived with great comfort

I would have preferred a busier location and I was personally disappointed that the cleaning was only done once( very strange

The room was very large. It was nice to have so much space.

This is a bare bones accommodation priced like a nice hotel. There is no breakfast, or even a bottle of water in your room, and you are allowed only two tiny thimble-size coffee pods per day - which make about 2 ounces of coffee each. If you want an extra pod you will be charged. If you forget to ask for your next day’s allotment of coffee, you will have none, because no one is there till after 8am. If you need a drink or food, the nearest convenience store is about 4-5 blocks away. The light in our entry way turned on by itself every few minutes the first night, keeping us awake until we figured out how to stop it - there is no one to ask for help at that time. There was a strong cigarette smoke smell in the first floor hallway that you have to walk through, but our room smelled fine.

    Space, cleanliness.

Additional costs for use of futons. Could have been better to have washing machine and dryer in room.

Fabulous room. Beautiful design and fixtures. Cozy comfortable beds. We loved this place

The location was very convenient with the Gion District and Yasaka shrine just a 20min walk. 5min walk gets you to kamo river which is beautiful for a stroll at any time of the day or night. The room itself was very clean and a reasonable size. The hotel had a coin operated washing machine which was so handy. There was also a jug in the room which you can take to the first floor to fill with ice and water for free. Also a whole manga section. Free umbrellas to use if it rains and other amenities. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful.

The room is very big, the location is excellent, the bed is comfortable. The stuff is helpful.

The internal arrangement is sub-optimal. The different levels are nice but inconvenient, especially during the night. The remote of the air condition as well as other gadgets has only Japannieese explanations on the bottoms. The bathtub is small. There is not working desk on the room.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious and clean

    10RoniPosted on: 10-14-2024

The room is super big, even has tatami area in the room! The room and the hotel itself has calming atmosphere and it’s very pleasant to stay. There is a bus stop right next to the hotel. We wish we could stay more, would definitely come back!

Location wise, there are not a lot of convenience stores or restaurants near the hotel. It’s about 15 minutes walk to the downtown.

We had a great time at the hotel, we got a very big room with a dining area and a sofa

This was by far our favorite stay out of the 4 properties we visited in Japan! The room we stayed in was beyond beautiful, timeless, and comfortable. After coming from a small hotel in Tokyo, this one left us with our jaws dropped. From the entrance you’re greeted by a large open space to leave your shoes along with any luggages you brought. The room was so large, definitely was not expecting based on what we paid. The beds were so comfortable, and two of us bathed every night in the tub. Very classic, traditional mixed with modern! Truly a luxurious stay at an affordable price. Beautiful and convenient location as well to the stations. If you don’t book this stay, you’re missing out!

The toilet is located on the opposite side of the room to the sinks/shower. It felt a bit inconvenient at times, but turned out to be very practical and innovative.

Clean and a great location! Was very close to transportation lines. Service was exceptional, staff gladly took care of my luggage as I had arrived hours prior to check in, and didn’t want to lug my bags around. The women at the front desk gave me great pointers for the area, and I went to various locations based on their recommendations. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

This small boutique hotel was about a 5 minute walk from the Higashiyama subway stop. Beautiful rooms, spacious with a modern but temple style feel to the decor. Front desk staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I can't say enough of the size of the rooms! Our family room with 4 beds was about 650 sq ft. Great place, i was definitely stay here again.

There was no breakfast, and its in a bit of a quieter neighbourhood. A few minutes walk or subway ride to any shopping or restaurants.
