Staffs were not present 24 hours, which is expected from a hotel in this price range. Also there was no concierge.

Big room, great location, staff very friendly and helpful.

The location was great! The hotel was comfortable and clean.

It would have been nice to have breakfast included and our room cleaned at least every other day.

Really spacious room the twin beds are big enough for two people. The bathroom had double sinks and the toilet and shower were separate from the sink area so it easy for multiple people to get ready at the same time. The location is very close to the hustle and bustle of the Gion district and not too far from the train station. Exceptional stay

I’m pregnant so the beds were a bit uncomfortable for me. They were a little too hard for my liking.

Spacious room with little couch for relaxing at night before bed. Pretty quiet. Central location in the heart of a tourist area, but not many options for breakfast in the neighborhood so be sure to keep some snacks stocked in the room. Overall a good utilitarian option if you’re doing lots of sightseeing.

Not a lot of character but that’s not what this hotel is about.

Daily cleaning was extra.

It was clean, comfortable and safe.

We had some difficulty operating the air conditioning system even with translation applications.

We picked this hotel as it was in Gion and close to a bar we love to visit. It ended up being one of favorite hotels we've stayed at in Kyoto. We came in pretty late in the night so they messaged us with late check-in instructions which was super easy to follow. The room was very spacious and we really enjoyed the little tatami mats "living room" space. The bathroom was also super spacious as well. There's a couple of coffee cafes/take out stores close by/walking distancing and a 7-11 right there.. They even have a vending machine right outside of the hotel. For those who enjoy beer, there's a beer vending machine on the street further down away from Gion center.We'll be back again!

The location was the best point for us. We were able to walk to many tourist spots easily but it wasn't right in the middle of the crazy busy areas. There was a lovely park just around the corner from the hotel and we ate at an amazing Sukiyaki and Shabu-Shabu restaurant.

Authentic Japanese small hotel, tasteful interior, felt luxurious after small place in Tokyo- very convenient to many things- reasonably quiet area in Gion. Hotel quiet except heavy walker doing laps above room. Comfortable beds.

I had asked for quiet room away from street and they put us on the street side but turned out to be ok with windows closed. Could hear heavy walker doing laps above. Would be nice to have more than 1 washer and have micro on each floor.

The scent in the lobby was nice but a bit strong, and there was only one laundry machine which was always in use.

Location was good. Close to transit, restaurants and shopping.

Excellent location, near to a lot of sights and places to eat. Quiet dispute being close to traffic.

The room was very spacious but also very dark as it was on the ground floor and looking at the wall of another building. We asked for an iron and ironing board and got a piece of plywood in lieu of ironing board. There was no option for breakfast and we had to ask for coffee pods every morning

Fantastic walkable location, close to heart of downtown Kyoto and convenient to subway, buses, and taxis. Also walkable to small antique shops, Yasaka shrine and Gion areas. Nice, clean relatively spacious rooms, with Japanese styling. Some rooms have nice view of river walkway near downtown Kyoto.

Some taxi drivers were unfamiliar with hotel location, and needed assistance with directions. Access to coin laundry machine onsite was difficult due to high demand, with inefficent dryer.

Rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds. The water refill station was honestly a massive perk and really helped us cut down on waste. Hotel was attentive to sustainability initiatives. Loved the little amenities station, had a few more options than other hotels on our trip. Location was great, lots of wonderful restaurants and shopping, but very quiet and easy to get a good night's sleep.

One more laundry machine would have been very helpful as it was always in use.

Room was very spacious and clean and the free amenities were nice quality. The location was very convenient as well.

The laundry machine doesn’t work properly and my clothes were all wet even after drying with extra time. I didn’t feel like the hotel employees paid attention to detail with cleaning the rooms. It also didn’t feel like they wanted to put any extra effort beyond the basic level of service when issues arise. Don’t expect too much and you will have a nice stay.

The family suite on the 4th floor was phenomenal! A great place to relax and rest after busy days around town.

With no food service at all, the hotel is basically an apartment - which is no problem, if you grab supplies elsewhere and/or plan to eat out.
