    Pros +

    • the body scrub in the shower smelled amazing! the bed was very comfortable.
    • Beds were Japanese style: rooms was very well designed and spacious.
    • It was within a few minutes walk of the castle, restaurants, laundromat, grocery - anything you could need. The staff was extremely kind and helpful each time we had a question, and they were always available. Rooms were the best we have seen here so far.

    Cons -

    • the resort fee was ridiculous and the room layout and the lighting was strange
    • Breakfast was not very good.
    • Far away from Kyoto Station yet no free shuttle service to and from the station. Would be great if this is available. We stayed at Mitsui Garden earlier and the free shuttle service to Osaka station was fantastic.

Super big room for a great price. Staff were friendly, and the cleaners did a great job every time. It was always nice when they restocked the water and juice everyday. It’s the little things that count.

Very nice and spacey. Staff were super friendly.

Location wasn’t super centric so you have to take the bus quite a lot to get to the good restaurants and market

No, vending machines, no place to get a soda pop or nothing.

Very modern and clean hotel. Rooms are a good size if you select a deluxe. Really like the combo shower and tub area. Sake and snacks for a few hours in the evening. Good price compared to our Tokyo hotel.

No concierge and reception staff not very helpful with questions about hotels, trains, etc. Breakfast was plentiful but underwhelming. Same items each day. Advertised as being adjacent to Nijo castle, but are several blocks from it on a very narrow, alley-like street.

The location is excellent, the hotel is very clean, and the rooms are beautiful. The staff were very professional. There are many small local restaurants nearby, allowing you to try different types of cuisine. Everything was perfect!

The building was really nice. Clean and well furnished. The staff was great

The location was away from most of the places we found ourselves visiting. It wasn’t too far of a walk to public transport but it wasn’t easily walkable to most places we wanted to visit

    9SoniaPosted on: 7-12-2025

Diverse options for breakfast, including continental breakfast. Very good location, close to bus and metro stations. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room size was great for a family of four.

Beautiful and clean hotel with large rooms for a reasonable price. It is located walking distance from a train station, bus stops, Nijo Castle and Imperial palace.
