    Pros +

    • The hotel is close to all main attractions so it's easy to get around. The hotel gave us 2 double beds so it was much better than 2 twin beds. The beds were not hard.
    • Convenient enough location for the price
    • The location was great, however the room was pretty dirty. There were handprints on the door, curtains and blankets were dirty and we encountered some bugs. Nevertheless, except for that, the staff was lovely and the coin laundry was useful.

    Cons -

    • This hotel had pillows made of rice! They were very uncomfortable.
    • The pictures were extremely misleading on the booking. Our room looked like it should have a couch and a full futon and queen bed (with multiple rooms). Instead we got a queen bed with some mattress pads that we put on the floor. Staff wouldn’t allow us to change as they were fully booked (understandable!), but I’d suggest taking pics with a grain of salt.
    • I was aware that a hotel and apartment in japan is really small but for comfortable stay I recommend this apartment for group or 2 or 3 only.

The location is near local train stations and few mins walk to Kyoto Station, there are also nearby bus stops going to areas around Kyoto. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The room size is adequate, with good facilities such as laundry downstairs, elevator, luggage storage and kitchen items.

The apartment is accessible to all the mode of transportation like bus and subway and it is easy to explore kyoto and tourist attraction from our apartment. There is a convenience store nearby and a 24/7 Laundry shop on the ground floor.

I was aware that a hotel and apartment in japan is really small but for comfortable stay I recommend this apartment for group or 2 or 3 only.

It was a nice hotel, the girl at reception explained everything fine. We came before check-in time, so we left our luggage at the reception, and picked up with no fuzz. The room was clean and everything was working. We left earlier and dropped keys into the reception box.

    5GREGPosted on: 5-14-2025

The room itself although clean was a "tired" old apartment with a horrible bathroom specially the bathroom counter top. I would not recommend this as a first choice when looking for places to stay while there.

    Lots of temples close by.

The Futons were not comfortable, basically your sleeping on the hard floor with only one layer of what felt like a duvet cover.

    8ChangPosted on: 4-17-2025

Close to station. Suitable for family. Lift available.

Kyoto in general, in addition to Tokyo, is expensive compared to other towns and cities.

    9ShinnosukePosted on: 4-17-2025

It's not that noisy and quiet at night. It is also close to Kyoto Station and is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk away.

The futon on the floor was thin, so my back hurt. I want a bed mat.

Good size room for 4 adults. Separate toilet and shower. Super close to bus stop and Lawson's across the road. Train station about 10min walk. Above a laundromat, handy for washing.

Minor details, bench top in bathroom looking tired, and kitchen panel broken.

    8SoparkPosted on: 4-5-2025

Clean, comfortable but expensive and too far to walk from Kyoto station. The nearest subway is not that close either and there are not many restaurants nearby.

We spent 2 nights here, 3 adults. It was very clean and comfortable with lovely friendly staff. Rio in particular was a fantastic and engaging host. She made our stay very pleasant with great tips for local cafes and area knowledge. We had great communication and will definately return again. Arigato Gozimus ☺️

    Nothing ?

The space is bigger than usual Japanese hotel room, and the location is awesome! It's between two stations and walkable distance. The Narita old street is not far away, also there are restaurants around the corners. The staffs at hotel speak English and they provide excellent services. Overall, I had pleasant stay at Welco!

This accommodation was kind enough to agree to receive a personal item I had misplaced in a previous hotel. They had to pay out of pocket and held my belongings blindly trusting a tourist would pay them back. For most of our stay, the receptionist 'Glenn' was happy to provide us with any help we needed such as providing us with more toiletries, bin bags and information about nearby services. He was very friendly and we had a lot to talk about! The bottom floor/reception also doubles as a laundrymat which is very useful after your daily 30k steps in Japan! Right across the road is a convenience store which saves you having to find breakfast elsewhere.

Location. 10 mins walk to Kyoto Station. Close to Subway line Railway station.

    6ReymundPosted on: 12-30-2024

Location, walking distance to Kyoto station

    Kitchen and toilet were old

    7AndreaPosted on: 12-29-2024

The Tatame mats and the large closetspace were a nice touch, and the room was relatively spacious + it had a fridge, kitchen and a good bathroom.

The room was quite cold, and it didn't have a couch which was why we chose it, so that sucked. And it is also located a little far from the station, but it wasn't too bad. Beware of the extra fee they ask you to pay to stay there (after you've paid via Booking.com).

    6YohannaPosted on: 12-1-2024

Location is not too far from kyoto station around 1km walk. Lawson is just across the street. Laundromat is at the ground level with affordable price.

The room is a bit old and dusty. To be honest it is more like a guest house than a hotel. They don't provide mineral water (something thtat I expect as a hotel standard). There is an extra charge for tax around 2400 yen which they did not informed in terms and condition before check in. We need to clean our own room and we need to ask for the cleaning tools.

    8NicolettePosted on: 11-30-2024

The staff were really friendly, one guy spoke English very well which made check-in very easy. They have a laundromat attached to reception, which was very handy for a longer stay. The area is less busy being further away from Kyoto station, which made it more relaxed and less touristy. Nice views from the 4th floor and the apartment was spacious, the kitchen was also a great size. The shower and toilet were separate which was also great and functional. The bed was very comfy, it was a regular mattress that comfortably fitted two adults.

The apartment is next to a main road, which can be noisy at times. The kitchen was a great size, but the fridge was small, so we couldn't stock it up too much. Please note that Kyoto city add a tax when you check into hotels, this is something we weren't aware of. We were charged an additional 200 yen for each night.
