Nice location to reach the landmarks and to travel to Osaka, cozy, with public bath

Fantastic location close to everything that you would want to see in Kyoto, great breakfast very helpful staff very comfortable room.

No view at all, however, the location makes up for it

The lounge was our favorite. Very peaceful, excellent food & drinks. The rooms are small but well-designed and comfortable.

Design and room was good

Breakfast area was small and hotel employee was trying to ask people to wait in a line to have breakfast and they were looking all tables often to see if you finish breakfast to ask you to free the table in a polite way by offering a coffee in another area, this was not good, we didn’t feel food at breakfast, hotel may arrange a bigger area for breakfast and families or couples may have breakfast in a more peaceful atmosphere instead of being aware of hotel employees want you to finish and go as much as quick and breakfast area can be at top roof floor for a bigger area and for a view instead of a room without windows.

Perfect location! Some steps to the metro and also walking distance from the shopping area. Great breakfast! Quiet neighborhood!

Good location and facilities. The room was clean and comfortable done in a more traditional Japanese style which was fun.

Although not the fault of the hotel or staff the lobby and gym were extremely busy and often difficult to navigate.

The hotel is located in isolated area and far from vibrant downtown, Kawaramachi. For me, that is fine and I like quiet area and to use MetroIf you like to stay near restaurants and busy area, this is definitely not your choice

- nice onsen, although tatoos are not welcome- great breakfast- good location and useful train line nearby- excellent dinner- good noise insulation

- there was a queue for breakfast- tatoos not welcome in onsen, although it depends on who in the staff you ask

The onsen was a different and new experience. Breakfast spread was decent with enough vegetarian options. The property was well located and within walking distance of various shrines and restaurants.

Everything was amazing. This hotel truly feels like my home in Kyoto.Thank you, my friend Bala, for always making time for my extra wishes and even treating me to my favorite cappuccino when I returned for the second time to the DoubleTree. All the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind — I genuinely felt at home.The breakfast was amazing, and the location is perfect — just a 10-minute walk to all the must-see tourist spots. There are bus stops and a metro station right next to the hotel, and convenience stores just across the street.I tried many hotels during my 3 weeks in Kyoto, and from now on, I’ll always choose Hilton DoubleTree Higashiyama.Thank you for everything!?

Very polite & helpful staff.Accommodating & caring.

The location isn’t great & it’s 30mins walk at least from the centre or 5-10mins Metro. There are just two very small restaurants in front of the hotel. There isn’t much there. We had to take taxi every time we wanted to go out. Also Kyoto station is 10mins by taxi. I wouldn’t stay there again only because of location.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was perfect as it was a walking distance to a lot of the main areas around Kyoto. The staff were really accommodating and friendly and we loved the warm cookie we received from the reception desk as soon as we checked in. It was a really nice gesture! Will definitely come back here again.

I had a reservation for 2 rooms. Unfortunately my friends' mother died and they had to cancel their stay. The hotel policy did not agree with the return of the money nor with moving the accommodation period to the next year in the same period. I mention that I paid around 500 euros/night/room.

Staff were amazing and they spoke fluent english. The front desk took a time to print a map and give us the best places to visit and eat at. We also love the suite that we stayed in the sauna was amazing and the room (the tatami suite) was absolutely to die for

We loved the location of the property, the cleanliness of the well appointed rooms, the breakfast experience and the smooth check in and check out process. Strongly recommended.

The hotel was still quite new, the room was quiet and bed was very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and many speak English well, so this makes a number of things much easier. The hotel is also a very short walk to a subway station close to the Kamo river.

The room was a bit smaller than anticipated although this is common for Japan. The location is slightly further away from the main tourist areas, so one does need to walk or take the subway, but it is flat.

Great new hotel in a convenient location. Welcome cookies are a great touch and delicious.
