    Pros +

    • Close to train station. Great staff, gave us extra free drink tickets for the bar for our honeymoon. Enjoyed the bar including the staff and meeting other guests. In-hotel washer/dryer access.
    • Great location. Full breakfast with lots of options. Even has a gym.
    • Given it was not in a part of town I would have chosen to stay in, it was nice for that part of town (near Nijo Castle & train station). And it was a good rate for an American chain hotel. I did like the "peg" concept on the wall, and did appreciate the refrigerator. Also a couple 7-11s/Lawsons w/in a block or two. Not a big restaurant/shopping/tourist area.

    Cons -

    • Washer/dryer is an all in one so doesn’t dry the clothes well - but the rooms have so many hooks on the wall easily got our clothes dried overnight.
    • it was NOT a quintessential Japanese hotel - VERY BUSY, not calming. Clearly intended for Gen Z. Japan is too crowded, IMHO, to want a hotel that intentionally feels busy & crowded, particularly in the hot summer. I didn't like the fact the "drink" coupon couldn't be used for anything I was interested in (and did not want alcohol or their restaurant's food). The bill was higher than the booking.com rate (some additional tax - even tho booking.com lists taxes in it's rate). Also, while they had laundry services, you couldn't separate things for hot or cold wash or by color.
    • Wish there are more washer/dryer units in the laundry room for guests. There are only 3 units & they were constantly being occupied. We had to wait till midnight to do our laundry.

The rooms are comfortable and smartly organized. The staff is friendly and available. When checking out, we forgot a small make-up bag there, and they even shipped it to us in the next town of our travel!

Clean, modern, nice & helpful staff, good espresso machine, and located near a train station and a great super market.

Wish there are more washer/dryer units in the laundry room for guests. There are only 3 units & they were constantly being occupied. We had to wait till midnight to do our laundry.

    Location near a train station

There were stains all over the walls, carpet and bedsheets. The bathroom was not properly cleaned to the standard of a 4 star hotel. It was not worth the price. The restaurant also has subpar food.

Very cosy hotel, with a lovely lobby. The staff was very friendly. Room was decent in size, but with all facilities. Everything was very clean. Location is great, 200m from the metro and train station, also reasonably close to tourist attractions.

The breakfast was too simple for our taste, with only few options. This is why we gave 3/4 for facilities.

Some may not like the location but for me it's perfect. It's on a side of a main road, near main JR station, and only a short bus riding distance will bring you to central Kyoto. The room size is bigger than the normal hotel rooms in Japan. Very well designed hotel. The washing machines are super helpful. Staffs are friendly.

the windows are not clear, and it made the room feel stuffy. I also didn’t like how I had to turn off the tv every time i entered the room.

The design was modern and fun. The facilities were clean and the atmosphere was exciting!

The disposable razor wasn’t sharp and there wasn’t any shaving gel provided.

Laundry room was great, also the gym and the location and bar.

Selection at breakfast was not great - I would have wanted more fruit. At check in the staff member was not very helpful. The rooms had no closet space.

    10SchellenbergPosted on: 11-19-2024

The staff was super nice and their English was good. The location right next to the Mijo station was convenient.

Breakfast was good but wish they changed it up a bit from day to day. Also, there was no room service but this might be a Japan thing rather than a hotel specific thing.

The location was fantastic. The installations are very good with all what you need. The mud and the attention of the crew were unmatched.

The bed base was not confortable, it had a kind of sag!!!

We liked the room and all the hooks around the room to hang our bags. Mattresses were comfortable but moved easily off the bed. Lots of outlets Great location. Easy access to a train and close to older Kyoto. Provided two water bottles per day. Staff was very nice. Met two Americans working behind the bar. Had a nice dinner at the hotel. Was given two free drinks. Would recommend.

Would have liked access to more water and ice for free. Not crazy about the hotel entrance decorations with large teddy bears and screens. Would have liked vending machines. Very large phone on the very small night stand. Mattresses slid off the bed. The headboard was a large pillow on pegs. It made sitting in bed uncomfortable but since I was so tired from walking in Kyoto it did not really matter.

Fantastic staff, great location, stylish rooms, comfy bed.

The dryer in the laundry room was weak.

Great location near a station. Hotel was very clean and the interior is very nice.

Great location, friendly staff, big room with comfortable bed. Fantastic hotel and would highly recommend

    10AnthonyPosted on: 9-15-2024

    Modern facilities. Friendly staff.

The breakfast was disappointing but I know that can be improved upon. Have more options, perhaps even add more Japanese products instead of American choices.

Property is a bit far located but still 30 min walking to everything, hotel it self is great with a nice atmosphere.

The rooms are a bit low in comfort the pillows very low quality and the mattress comparing to Moxy in Osaka

    9JinPosted on: 7-22-2024

The interior design of the hotel is amazing and cute. The lounge is so fun and relaxing to stay. As for the room itself, the design is elegant and such a good use of the limited space for Japan’s hotel.
