Pros +
- Amazing experience from the lobby smelling like a million dollars to the room decor (and pajama quality) to the "bath" and of course the super helpful staff
- Centrally located but not in the middle of crowds. Lobby smell really good all the time and staff was polite.
- Very bad front desk service. Paid a fortune for the hotel and they asked me to pay additional for breakfast which had been already paid for. It took a while until they realised the booking originally had included breakfast. Then they told me breakfast was until 11 am but when I arrived at 10:30 they said last order had been at 10 am. So—no breakfast for an exorbitant price. No smile, no apology. In the end they came up with a bag of banana and dry bread. Disappointing.
Cons -
- Everything was great
- Rooms are small and don't have a view.
- Dryer in laundry area took forever. Had to repeat and pay almost 4x before clothes could be adequately dried.

Location! Value for the price. Comfortable bed. Attentive and helpful staff. They promptly shipped my husband’s wallet that he left inside the safe to the airport and we were able to get it with no problems!

The hotel is very good, it has a fitness room, comfortable beds and the rooms are relatively large (for Japanese standards). The staff speak English very well and were always friendly, courteous and helpful. I would especially like to highlight the breakfast buffet, which is large and includes delicious Japanese and Western specialties as well as various fruits, breads, vegetables, etc. The location is more or less central.
The price/performance ratio seems rather mediocre to me. Even if it is indeed a very good hotel... Rather too expensive for Japan.
Well located and well organized. Great to have the option of a triple. Coin laundry and free coffee a plus. Easy to park and arrive. Very central.
Overall, hotel location is good as it's just a short distance to the shopping district and proximity to convenience stores and bus stops. Gym was clean and enjoyable.
I wouldn't recommend opting for breakfast unless it's complementary. Felt that the variety provided was limited and quite pricey.
Location is good ??
Room wasn’t really clean , I believe it was dusty because my allergy was so bad in the room?
Close to restaurants aswell as central to train services. There is a shopping arcade approx 15-20 min walk. Shopping here is a must including great little Japanese restaurants amongst your shopping experience. We spent hours here!
Breakfast was more Japanese inspired then western
The staff is welcoming, friendly, helpful, efficient and with sincerity in their smiles. The hotel is neat and comfortable. Location of the hotel is perfect, not too far away from train station, the shopping area and restaurants.Food at the hotel is great. The breakfast buffet is so good.
The shower curtain should be changed per check in. It had that stale smell.
Rooms are small for the value paid, also no proper view. The windows are frosted which makes the room feel a bit claustrophobic. Rooms are kept clean. Overall conveniently located in the centre of Kyoto’s key attractions. The onsen is definitely a plus for this hotel.
We had initially emailed the hotel to help us make reservations for restaurants. Response from Front desk was very slow until the day we arrived. They did however help us when we arrived. Just felt for a special collection hotel and under the Marriott group in a country where language is limited would see concierge facilities to be top-notch.
Fabulous shower water pressure, lovely bath lotions and soaps. Comfy beds, duvet covers, and pillows. Fancy toilet nice; I now like bidets.
Pre-printed area information available in lobby; please offer same pamphlets in English.
Excellent BreakfastSuper cleanNice smell everywherestaff so friendly and helpfulSpa was SO nice and convenientGood and free coffee in the lobby
Breakfast is very good involving both western and local dishes. The location is very good, subway distance to Kyoto station and very close to the local attractions.
Personally I d prefer more local cuisine and more types of fish for the breakfast and generally food.
The staff members (particularly Kohei, Shoei, and Taro at Reception) were helpful, friendly and service-minded. The overall design of the hotel was also noteworthy.
Breakfast and location are excellent. I like the feature of having a dividing door between the bedroom and the bathroom/washing area. I could get up earlier than my husband to wash myself without waking up my husband. The room is very quite despite the fact that it faces busy street.
The first floor bathroom has such a small number of toilet in both man and woman’s despite the fact that so many guests come to have breakfast.
All the facilites of the hotel are comfortable , and the breaksfast buffet are very good
Most comfortable beds!
The distance from things and stations was kinda far.
Good breakfast
Everything.
