Via Inn Prime Kyotoeki Hachijoguchi

The breakfast is ok and value for money. As a vegetarian, I had my best meal here in Japan. It's not easy to find vegetarian cuisine in Japan. The staff is so so for my first check from 12-14jan. When we come back from Nara for our last two nights, they are kind of unhelpful. When we ask for taxi service, the staff reacted badly. Perhaps we can't speak Japanese well. Even so, she does not need to be so impatient with us.

Location location location. Right in front of Kyoto station, 7-11 in the hotel, what else do you need?

The breakfast is great. It is close to kyoto station, a 3 mins walk and very convenient

I met one impatient staff, one rude staff and two unfriendly ones. There is a nice guy who help me to check on where to get nori sheets in beautiful packing. Unfortunately he does not speak English well. There is a girl who is always smiling. She helped him. If not these two staffs, my staff will be greatly affected in Via Inn. Too bad I didnt take their names. Thank you so much for being kind. As a first time traveller we have lots of problem. Perhaps they might think our problems are small. To us, it is big. Hope they understand.

check in system via kiosk is slow especially if all rooms are booked under one name, we were not reminded that one of our rooms was a bigger room and we got the rooms mixed uo when checking in.

Large, comfortable room at a great location with overall excellent service. Breakfast buffet was expansive and fabulous.

As a foreigner resorting to google translate, i had some difficulties communicating with frontline staff in written Japanese. Said staff opted to reject my request outright instead of taking the time to understand it first or at least referring me to someone who could. Luckily another staff member was better able to read Japanese and attended to me promptly. Also, the lobby could look a little brighter.

A great central place to stay for Kyoto. 3 minute walk to the station. The station itself has lots of food options, and easy to access different parts of Kyoto using bus or train. The room was spacious and the tv system was helpful (there is an option to see what washers were in use). Our baby got sick one night and the staff was helpful in trying to contact medical services. They even asked us in the morning if he was okay.

Nothing, we would stay here again!

Excellent Japanese and western style breakfast. Excellent location five minute walk from Shinkansen station.

Very crowded breakfast room with long line ups. Waited for half an hour at 6:30am. Good thing we started early as we had to catch a train.

Large room size, friendly staff, and very close to several of the spots we had wanted to see in Kyoto. Being near the train station was very convenient as well.

Only downside was no view? But that is not why we stayed there, so really no downsides!

It’s super close to the Kyoto Station. Breakfast is amazing. Super clean.

Location, room size, king bed, and A/C under your control. 4 elevators were fast. Attached 7-eleven was great.

1) Same laundry machines as other hotels that don't dry well after 90 min (3x30 min cycles). 2) On 3 of 6 days a large group took over breakfast area from 6:30-7:30. Staff had a sign up, but never the day before. Hotel info tells you that hour is least crowded,so you plan your day and they surprise you half the time with a delay they could have warned you about.

The room is really small but everything else is very good comparing to the price

No TV channel in English

It is the perfect place for people who want to explore the city for 3 or 4 days and doesn't want to spend a lot on hotels, The staff was very kindAlso the location is perfect, just 8 mins walk from kyoto station7 eleven literally in the same building in the first floor

Location-- so close to Kyoto Station! Easiest commute to the hotel on my whole trip!Clean and updated-- super clean rooms and facilities, and electronics were up-to-date (I could stream and cast to TV)This is my second time staying here, and I will definitely be booking again. Excellent hotel!

The location is great, it is 2-3 min to the Kyoto Station. The room was clean but a little bit narrow to walk around with luggages. We used the laundry room as well and it was good, the drying may take a little while. Also staff is absolutely the best, due to my fault I was late to check out as I had read the booklet they gave us wrong, and when I explained the situation they were so understanding and didn't get the late fee.

I think all hotels in Kyoto should mention about the Kyoto City Accommodation Tax on their page as it was a little bit surprise.

The location is less than 5 min walk to Kyoto station.The convenient store attached to the hotel.The room is spacious and modern.

The self check in process wasn't great. The passport scanner failed to read the data most of the time, thus you have to repeat the process more than once. It happen in all four counters.

Excellent location with convenient store. Very helpful staff. Love the breakfast. Good house keeping service. Very clean. Room size is reasonable. Love the bathroom and amenities like toiletries and be able to do laundry.

Just the uncomfortable pillow. Overall it was excellent.

Very convenient location by Kyoto station. We had two rooms- one with two beds that was really small and one with a large bed that was a bit larger and nice.

Amazing location, perfect hotel and price. Would definitely stay there again next time I visit Kyoto. Being walking distance to the main train station is a plus. Plus the laundry service at the hotel was very convenient.
