Spacious clean room with a comfortable bed. Easy access to several bus lines

Rooms were amazing. Far exceeded my expectations. Showers were great and beds were comfortable.

I was unable to do luggage forwarding due to Hotel Kyotology being self-governing. Also, there was no option for early check-in.

The room is a great size, the check-in process was easy, and everything was clean. There are great amenities offered for guests (such as toiletries, self-service laundry) and the location is a 5-10 minute walk to bus stops.

While I greatly appreciate the free laundry self-service, other guests are not very respectful. We tried to start a load of laundry early in the morning and other guests had left clothing in both the washer AND dryer. In addition to this, the dryer seems to have a problem and took longer than an hour to dry our clothes.

Nice room with natural light. And modern fixings.

It’s a self service environment. Don’t expect any support or consideration from staff.

We loved this hotel. It was a great base for us in Kyoto. So peaceful and quiet, really appreciated having a microwave and everything else we needed in the common area. Friendly, helpful staff.

I like how large the rooms are and how the hotel itself is in a more residential area but still close to majority of the shrines.

I wish the ac in the room was able to get colder

Spacious rooms ( for Japan). Very clean and gardens are nice touch. The shared kitchen space is a long bench table in small lobby so feel bit exposed if eating breakfast here. Two toaster, microwave and crockery etc. No milk for coffee only powder cream. So make sure you get some before you come ( walking distance to super market and 7/11) We stayed 3 nights and rooms not cleaned, even though put a sign on door asking. Came back after being out all day with no room service but was okay. Would be nice if in rooms they had couple of plates and bowls instead of having to go down to “kitchen” and get. No staff around really so have to sort self out if need anything. One washing machine and one dryer so can get busy. Overall was a nice quiet little place.

No breakfast serve here. Only coffee machine and free coffee & cream offered. But good coffee. You are able to used all utensils. So buy your own foods and there is a toaster, microwave for you to used.

Employees need to speak better English. Remote controls for TV and AC needs to have English words tape on the remote control and not wasting our time to look for instructions or Google translate.

Very high tech and loved that. I didn’t need a room key. The room was nicely done with modern tech and great lighting. Staff was kind and helpful

Our stay at this hotel in Kyoto was nothing short of amazing. The room was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean. The location was super convenient, just a short and easy walk from the subway.One of the standout features was the Nespresso coffee machine, a perfect way to start the day. They also provided unlimited toiletries, making packing light a breeze. The free washer and dryer were a huge bonus, especially for a longer trip.The highlight of our stay was the beautiful Japanese mini garden right outside our window. We could open it up, set up the table and chairs, and enjoy a peaceful, zen-like atmosphere while having pre-drinks. It was such a unique and relaxing experience.The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep after a long day of exploring.This was hands down the best hotel we stayed at during our entire Japan trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. Would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel was very clean and I appreciated the minimal dimly lit atmosphere of the hallways. It was very quiet and comfortable with a quick easy check in process.

It was a bit far from the train station but luckily it was close to the bus stops needed to go into the popular tourist sites.

The small garden instead of the balcony, a beautiful Japanese detail. Very clean and spacious.

The room was amazing. We had everything we needed. We used the laundry service and it was fine too.

I am not sure if we like the location a lot. We couldn't find bars or breakfast places close to the hotel.

Comfortable stay, 200m from Sanjūsangendō Temple (a must see) and a 10 min journey to Gion. Train station is about 750m away and bus station around 350m.

In a perfect location, being able to walk to many local spots was amazing. There is so much to do around that three days wasn’t enough.Also free coffee at the lobby was so wonderful!
