The neighbourhood is very quiet at night but still feel very safe. The hotel is close to many attractions in the historic gion district. Our room was spacious and came with a tatami area for relaxing.

Good location but no breakfast.
It took 3 cabs from the train station to find this place. Kept getting dropped off at wrong hotel with similar name. There are too many hotels with very similar names and the cab drivers cant tell them apart. The hotel should do a better job describing its physical location. It was obviously confusing - even for locals. The hotel should set up the smart TV before the guest checks in - I had to get reception staff up the the room with the Amazon plug in thingy while she spent 20 minutes getting it working - they need to get the smart tvs set up. As usual the fridge was not cold enough and you could hardly fit a bottle of wine in it.
Easy check in and easy check out. Staff very helpful with recommendations and the nice woman even called several nail salons for me to get a manicure. Arigato! Beds and linens very comfortable. Good A/C, reliable wifi, convenient location for dining and attractions.
No breakfast served at the hotel. There is really only one restaurant nearby open for breakfast and it was a little disappointing. This hotel could offer a Continental-style breakfast for guests to eat in their room, understanding that space is limited there.
The room was very comfortable. We had a corner room with a partially outdoor bath and a view of the skyline, which was so cool. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was beyond words good. I will stay here again the next time I visit Japan - it is truly a special place.
The only minor inconvenience was that the AC did not go below 24 C.
Great location. On the keihan main line which we used for all of our sightseeing. Close to the river great for a morning run. Such a beautiful room. Lots of space. Had everything we needed. Staff were very helpful with a couple of tricky requests.

It is a very nice hotel in Gion. The staff was very helpful and kind. The room was spacious and comfortable, particularly the bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay.
The location is great to go to Gion. However, it is further away from many other points of interests and one has to walk a bit for some public transportation, making the location not so ideal in heat wave weather.

Traditional neighbourhood, great style and great quality. The staff is amazing and extremely helpful. Big size rooms, and I can stress this enough, this is a great extra if you're traveling through Japan.
Check in is a bit later than your usual 2/3 pm. Although there is the option to pay for early check-in.
