Hotel Gimmond Kyoto

The best thing about this hotel is the location, very walkable to restaurants and sights.

The rooms are very small and the bed is too small and uncomfortable. Sadly we didn?t get a good nights rest at this hotel

The room was tiny, outdated, and uncomfortable.

Near a train station, not a far walk from Gion district, excellent staff- friendly and helpful, very clean room

Centrally located on a tree-lined boulevard Convenient walk to many sights and close to subway and bus.

Smoking in the lobby area

The location was great for the activities we wanted to do. It was nice to come to at the end of our day. We appreciated the free WiFi so we could plan our sightseeing.

The hotels central location was perfect for our traveling iteniary.

Restaurant staff were avareage at best

Front desk staff are very friendly. The bed is cozy.

The location is great, close to all the stores and restaurants in the downtown core.

I found the pillows to be uncomfortable, too hard.

The room is big enough for a solo traveller and the staff were very accommodating and kind. :)

Small rooms but good value for money

Rave. Dynamite staff. Very helpful, friendly. Location was central. Near the subway cross roads. Good elevators. Room was comparatively large. Nice big window you aren't supposed to open, but can. Again, the young ladies behind the counter were fabulous. Would stay again.

High price, small bedroom, doesn’t provide mineral water like the others.

I will not stay at this hotel in my next trip for sure.

The hotel is very very old. It’s not what you see from the booking website. The first floor, reception is stink with cigarette smoking. There is no air conditioner, just heater only. The bed is very old and uncomfortable to sleep on. There is only one electrical plug to charge your devices in the room. I have to use the second one in the bathroom.

Breakfast is OK.

Cleaning lady comes to work in the hallway at early morning and makes a lot of noise which disturbs my sleep.Overnight, there was water dripping sound throughout the night.

It’s an excellent location very close to transportation hubs. The Kyoto Museum and shopping district are very close by with Walking Distance. The staff is very helpful and professional there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance. There is a small closet and good air conditioning control.

The room was a little small by American standards, but it was adequate for one person and as a solo traveler, I thought it was fine. My room was facing the street, which was a little noisy, but earplugs will solve that problem.

Location was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful.

There was a smoking area in the lobby right near the door and across from the desk, so when someone was in there smoking, the lobby smelled like smoke. This was not an air tight area and unfortunately the luggage drop was right by it.

I like the location and the hotel in general

I didn't like that they charged me extra and it wasn't expected cause the booking wasn't mentioned an extra payment.

Stuff was so welcoming and helpful. The room was big enough for us and comfortable.

There were only 2 outlets other than the bathroom. Four would be better.

The staff were wonderful, the room was clean, the location was convenient, and there were signs in English for those who cannot understand or read Japanese.

The bed was a bit hard for me, but that's my personal preference and not a reflection of the hotel. Also, it was difficult to use the air conditioner / fan, though I was able to figure it out.

I really like the location, within a 10 minute walk to Teramachi and 15 minutes to Shijo.

I ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and I thought it was disappointing. It was a one-plate set, with one very small and cold fried egg, a very small cup of yogurt, some stale bread and a tiny bit of salad. The coffee in the coffee pot wasn't very hot either. There are restaurants near the hotel that offer a better breakfast.
