IRORI KYOTO STATION HIGASHI-HONGANJI

We loved staying at Irori. The staff was helpful and pleasant, the room was clean, the location was excellent and the area was quiet. We would have extended our stay if there was a room available. We would stay here again when we go back to Kyoto.

Large room compared to typical Japanese hotel rooms, fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, stove, cooking utensils, and plates. Very clean and comfortable room.

The hotel is about 7-10 minutes walk to the train station. I love the place! It is a quiet area and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They have brochures and lists of restaurants nearby. The check-in and check-out systems are easy.

I love having more than 1 pillow. It would have been nice to have more pillows in the room.

Enough space for 3 people. Near to Kyoto station. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Kyoto for at least 3 nights

Nope, everything is fine!

We loved the location as it was close to the train station and close to restaurants and such. There's a decent amount of room for two people and their bags. The staff was wonderful and even messaged us that the room was ready several hours before check-in.

We had a window, but it faced an alley with a dreadful view. We just kept that curtains closed.

Good location - short walk from train station. Staff helpful and friendly. Washer and laundry soap in the suite. Coffee and tea provided. Adequate kitchen dishes to make some meals. Quiet.

There are no shelves or drawers to place unpacked clothing on. We used the second bed in the room.

This hotel was conveniently located just a short walk from Kyoto Station, making it easy to get around the city. The room was a comfortable size and came with a small kitchen, which was great for preparing light meals. The staff were friendly and quick to provide any items we needed, such as an iron and other essentials.

While the location and room were great overall, the washer setup was disappointing. It only washes and doesn’t dry, so our clothes stayed damp even after hanging for over eight hours. This made it difficult to do more laundry during our stay. If doing laundry is irrelevant, great place!

Good location, easy access to the station, markets and shops, and walking distance to a lot of tourist spots . The room was comfortable and quite spacious with a small kitchenette and a washing machine. Staff were lovely.

Hard to dry clothes, but there is a laundrette a relatively short distance away...no storage for multiple day stays, so had to keep everything in our suitcases.

Spacious for 5 people. The washing machine is a plus❤️. Hotel is close to Kyoto station and few minutes away from Higashi-Hongan-ji Temple and Shōseien Garden. Lots of restaurants close to the hotel. Family mart is very convenient.

Location is close to Kyoto station. The room is too small for three of us but very clean and comfortable bed. Washing machine works and there’s a small area outdoor to dry the laundry. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Location and convenience

Apparently our sleep was disturbed by someone coming to our room at 10.30pm!! We were shocked and worried the whole night! When we asked the staff the next day, he was nice to checked and came back to tell us that it was a mistake by one of the staff checking on the room? Our thoughts were : why does staff comes in the night to check rooms for at that time? Even though your staff was apologetic and said they will refund a one night stay, we felt that the room could be more secured if they have a ledge for us to lock from inside.

Best hotel I stayed in my Japan trip. The room was big in comparison to all the small hotels in other cities.Location was prime! The room spotless, staff amazing. Could not recommend it enough !

Great location—just a 10-minute walk to Kyoto Station, which made getting around easy. The room was compact, as expected in Japan, but equipped with a handy kitchenette and washing machine in the room. We arrived early in the afternoon and were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready—staff kindly allowed us to check in early, which was deeply appreciated. A practical and comfortable base for exploring Kyoto!

Hot water didn't work. We had to let the water run for a long time before the hot water came out to brush one's teeth or wash one's face, which was a waste of water and time. We informed the staff and it wasn't resolved during our stay. Pretty annoying.

Location is very convenient, 1 min to Family Mart convenience store and 8 min to Kyoto station. Bit it's surrounding is very quiet and almost hidden. That's why I liked it the most.Easily fit our family of 4. Room was small but that's expected in Japanese standard.

The water system in the wash basin was confusing. There was a button says Don't Touch in English but regardless of it was on or off, I wasn't able to getbhot water. Had to go to either to the shower or kitchen sink during shaving.
