- The concierge was very polite and helpful. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The kids loved the bunk beds! Everything in the room was immaculate. The washer/dryer was easy to use and helpful to have in the room.
- We were surprised that four of us (parents plus teenagers) managed to co-exist in this room for a week without too many issues. The bathroom arrangement worked well enough even though only one toilet between four and it was very convenient to have a washer dryer. Bath and shower in a combined room but separate (ie not a shower over bath) was nice. Kitchen was manageable with large enough fridge. Supermarket just around the corner and convenience stores all around. Nice location, walkable and easy access to great public transport options.

Kitchen was rather a small bench but we rarely used as we mostly ate outside. Really helpful staff at reception that helped us with directions, catching bus or train, and luggage forwarding services and really polite and friendly. Has a bus stop in front so quite handy and distance to train station was relatively short walk.

Amazing facilities in the heart of Kyoto. Lovely, friendly and accommodating staff and great size apartments for a family of four. The big plus is the in-unit washer/dryer combo. The staff really go out of their way to make guests comfortable and our kids had a fabulous time there. We were so sad to leave but we will be back!
Great location and close to everything by a few minute walk or taking the bus. Staff was very helpful in providing information of what is nearby and how to make reservations if needed. Rooftop has great views.
The location was fairly convenient with two nearby train stations about a 5-10 minute walk away. The rooftop area was really nice with great views of the city and mountains in the background, and we had it to ourselves multiple nights. The room was bigger than we expected, which helped us relax after busy days. The staff were very friendly and even gave us tips on things to do based on where we planned on going for the day, which enriched our trip. I would stay here again.

It is a bit of a walk from main bus station and main part of city which we didn’t mind but might not be suited for all and also if you like a quieter neighborhood it’s great.
The room was okay. It was very clean. We could do our own laundry as there was a washing machine in our room, which was really convenient. Wish there was a little bit more space in the room, but that was no big issue as we stayed there only for 3 nights.
The location was a bit far from the metro. we had to use cabs which was very expensive. The rooms were small.
Perfect! Kyoto is very touristy so we enjoyed this location away from the touristy madness and with less touristy food options nearby. Fantastic service and a perfect clean and spacious room for our family.

From the moment we checked in, the staff was incredibly warm, helpful, and accommodating. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Nijo Castle and near public transport, which made exploring Kyoto super easy.The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed for families or groups. We loved having a kitchen and dining area, especially while traveling with kids. It really felt like a home away from home.What really stood out was how family-friendly everything was. The hotel Japanese-style seating area, and other thoughtful touches that made our stay extra comfortable. There's also a laundry room which was super convenient for longer stays.There are convenience stores, restaurants, and even a 7-Eleven nearby, making late-night snacks and quick meals easy. The area is peaceful but still close enough to Kyoto’s main attractions.If you're visiting Kyoto with family or a group, I can’t recommend MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle enough. It was one of the best parts of our trip!
The property is very clean , shower room is amazing . Good place for family to stay. They even provided sleeping robe , toothbrushes, toothpaste, sleepers. Accessible to city busses . Staff are all very helpful . We will stay here again and will highly recommend to friends, co workers and relatives. Thank you Mimaru Kyoto Nijo Castle for making our stay in Kyoto wonderful!
