Pros +
- The rooms are spacious and beautiful, overlooking the lush gardens. The concierge was very helpful with restaurant reservations, arranging transportation and recommending shops and activities.
- Beautiful grounds. It was a breath of fresh air after a long day of travel. The room was more than accommodating. The restaurant is fabulous, too. The car service was great!
- Great staff!
Cons -
- No bidets in the bathrooms.
- When they did turn down, they let mosquitoes in the room. Eek! The doors were a bit thin, and we could hear loud teens walking through the corridors at night.
- Need’s some TLC-doors to room are dirty and upstairs bar area is bland-needs redecorating. Spa also need’s remodel

Fantastic staffLovely roomsExcellent foodVery pleasant surroundings
Large comfortable room. Lovely garden. Relaxed pool area.
Decor uninspiring. We were expecting something a bit less international.
One of Nairobi’s best hotels in terms of comfort and old school luxury. Great service, and the bar and restaurant gets better every time I’m there.
Elegant, every room is a large suite, beautiful views out to trees & Ngong hills. Prolific birdlife. Provision of amenities excellent…. Lots of bottled water, lovely bath products, V good spaGood business/meeting facilities
Pool is relatively small. It wasn’t busy when we were there but in high season I think it would be crowded…
Very good Spa and outdoor pool. Beautiful gardens.
The room wasn’t ready when we arrived due to ‘technical’ problems, and having had lunch, we were then told that the room had been changed to Room 15. We needed to sleep but the room looked almost directly onto the terrace where people were still enjoying Sunday Brunch and consequently very noisy. The noise continued until sundown.
Everything was perfect! The view and gardens are wonderful and the rooms are delightful. Cant wait to return!
nothing,
Such an amazing hotel. Staff were more than accommodating with anything we required, the food was spectacular and our room was huge. Not sure why it only has 3 stars as this is definitely a 5 star hotel. I would recommend anyone staying in Nairobi to try this place at least once, they will not regret it. We had a night flight so they let us have a late check out and we’re allowed to use the spa facilities to shower and change before our flight.
The room was spacious Clean The staff are very friendly
The hotel knew I had a 4 year old with me and decided to put me in a very far room from the main building on a top floor, which wasn't east for the child. They made me book an extra night even though this was my third stay with them because I had a late flight and a child 4yo. I needed the room to make sure she could sleep before the flight They refused to extend my check out, and I booked the night online because it was a lot cheaper from the rate they offered me. I will definitely try another hotel when I'm back in Nairobi.
breakfast was good and fresh
security was poorly orchestrated cause they didnt allow my relatives and friends to come to my room
Food was good, dinner and breakfast. Liked the staffed buffet better than normal free for all.
General service was terrible. Why only a few sun loungers around a nice pool in a large hotel ? General cleanliness poor.
I really enjoyed sitting by the pool after my long flight to Nairobi. My room was also lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and there were a number of good options to choose from. The hotel overall was very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay.
The price was a bit too high I thought.
Staff were amazingHotel a bit tired needs an ugradeFood mediocre
Impressive on first arrival, good selection of food on the menu, comfortable beds, impressive rooms.
just all felt a bit tired, and not quite as put together as you’d expect from a hotel at this price point. As always, it’s the little things - showers that don’t quite work properly (bit of a game to guess if it’ll stay hot or you’ll get a sudden push of cold water), meagre supplies of shampoos, etc, the butler idea (nice in theory, in practice saw our lady once then never again, seems more of a gimmick), same menu for lunch and dinner. It all just seems a bit tired and resting on it’s laurels from previous times.
the staff and the dinner
the non heatened pool
it is charming and beautiful. There is a large garden and a lovely swimming pool. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The food is delicious.
it is very expensive, but cost a fortune to run!
This is the nicest hotel in Nairobi. The grounds and nature around it are also wonderful.
They don’t sell sunscreen on site, so make sure you pack a bunch.
loved the food, the rooms, the space, the pool
bed was quite hard and toilet didn't always work
