Pros +

  • A family run operation, Mr Victor and his brother Beatus, and team are very friendly, approachable. Communications with Beatus on WhatsApp makes things so much easier. Most of all they have many years of professional experience running a safari business, organising Mt Kili treks, offering cultural tours, day trips from the home location. You are in very capable hands. Ensuring safety, enjoyable activities or a successful climb. Staying 2 nights and chatting with the team, i am impressed with the kindness, utmost level of dedication to make everything work. I only booked the 1 day Shira Plateau trek, it was immensely enjoyable and fun. Excellent guide Babu taking care of us. This trek is easy level, i would highly recommend it. The home is sort of up on a slope, offering vantage views. Rooms are basic, spacious and very comfortable, most with ensuite bathroom. The meals are excellent, great service from the family. A good place to recharge or recover. A new swimming pool is almost ready! Thank you Shimboni Meadows & Shimboni Safaris. you have a fantastic team! All the best!
  • I am so so so....so happy that I booked this hidden treasurable place in a quiet lovely village just around the skirt of Kilimanjaro Mountain. The staff there are very responsible and helpful, I really felt their love for the village and their people, they provides pick up service for a reasonable price, the manager Beatus, he pickup us from Kilimanjaro Airport, a really interesting drive to the place, go through the town Moshi, through forest mountain road we reached the house, the room, if you were expecting to a warm, nicely cosy home feeling, this is it! not hotel, but a nice local home. I had a very good nap in a raining and slightly windy afternoon during this May, full of fresh air and smell, the wind was blowing the curtain, you can imagine, that was amazing; the food is wonder, freshly cooked everyday, we also booked tours with them, had a really nice walk around then village, and a one day trip to Kilimanjaro, I love this place, I am so selfish that I really want to just keep it to myself, but I have to write down this review, for gratitude to staff there, they really did a great job to keep running the place. And the pearl of the place is the magnificent view from the roof top balcony, public place, before I book this place I saw the picture of the peak of Kilimanjaro from the balcony, that was my reason why I booked this place, when we stay here, when I saw it with my own eye, it was breath taking and sacred place. I will definitely come back. Oh, when we we're there, they were building a swimming pool, that is one plus reason to come back in a hot season.
