    Pros +

    • Simply a spectacular place to stay in Kanazawa. It's very small, maybe five rooms, but the rooms we stayed in were quite spacious and perfectly designed. All the lovely small touches you'd expect at a high-quality Japanese hotel (welcome gift, toiletries, yukata), comfy beds, and a truly powerful shower. The one man on staff was a delight and was very happy to give us suggestions on where to go and what to do, and spoke perfect English. Best of all, for the price we paid, this was a great deal. In Tokyo or Kyoto these rooms would easily be twice the price if not more. Easy walking distance from the train, and to the main sights as well. Highly recommend.
    • The room has a great vibe because of the classy decor with modern esthetics of a Ryokan. Love the reception, very inviting and the manager is quite helpful of our needs. We went to restaurants that's recommended on the booklet , both turned out exceptional! Kanazawa is truly a gem especially the Garden.
    • Beautiful property with spacious room! The host/staff was incredibly nice and helped us a lot with luggage transfer and tips! We were also lent an umbrella to go out, and generally had a great time.Clean, well-located and overall a great place to stay while exploring Kanazawa!

    Cons -

    • A bit pricey compares to other places we stayed in considering there's no breakfast included but really didn't not bother as much. The beautiful and quaint town made up for it!

Very comfortable and clean. Nice to have washing machine in room.

The location to the Kanazawa station was great and we loved that it was tucked into the neighborhood and not on a busy street. This apartment style hotel was unique and only had 5 rooms. The host was very nice and spoke great English. He greeted almost every time we went in and out of the building. He even had little Japanese souvenirs for us and the kids. The shutters on the sliding doors were fantastic and allowed us to sleep in.

Brilliant spot, clean and modern with a touch of culture and tradition. Great location and host.

Only stayed for two nights, and missing it already! I had the most wonderful time, the owner was extremely helpful, and we had a couple friendly talks (he was very patient and kind with my limited Japanese! ?)

    10PaulPosted on: 5-14-2025

The host was very friendly and spoke excellent English. He took the time to explain how everything worked. He had a book that explained everything in the room and walked us through everything from the door lock to the washing machine. The room has a blend of Japanese and Western style that leans more Japanese. Everything was perfect, in our opinion, and we would highly recommend it.

Great modern ryokan. Conveniently located. Owner was very sweet and explicative. Loved our stay here

The accomodation is in a very quiet and peaceful part of town. Things are very clean and new, room is Japanese style low to the floor but beds are raised. There are a lot of electronics, window shutters to make the room dark, controls for bath, shower, toilet, ventilation etc. There's a book to translate the controls written in Japanese. There's no breakfast nor is the place continually staffed but the owner who speaks English is around quite a lot and is very helpful. Short, peaceful walk to the fish market and sites

The owner is super nice with best Japanese courtesy I have ever experienced so far in Japan! Thank you so much for having us and making our stay in Kanazawa an unforgetable one.

Wonderful boutique hotel in Kanazawa. Very friendly staff who took all the time to explain the functioning of the hotel to us. Very warm Japanese style room with full equipment. Good location to explore the city and excellent value for the money

Warm welcome, very clean and comfortable, lovely local crafts and art. Great location for both accessing the train station and interesting neighborhoods. Very walkable.

We had a wonderful stay at Haanakari. The room was impeccable with every detail thought out so carefully. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We were given the most beautiful welcome gifts and had everything we needed to be comfortable for the nights that we stayed. Within 15 minutes walking distance to anything we wanted. Highly recommend!

Lovely little hotel / stay 10 minutes walk from Kanazawa station. Hotel Manager was a very kind and considerate host. Small decorative touches in each room, laundry facilities in room, relatively spacious by Japan standards.

    10BilelPosted on: 1-15-2025

This hotel was the best thing to happened here. Modern and traditionnal at the same time, you wont believe your eyes what you got for such a price. The owner is really nice and can help you with recommendation. 10 min walk from station, good restaurant on the way, plenty of Coffee shop, near touristic area (all can be done by foot)

This was one of the best accommodation experiences we have had in Japan.Beautiful building and amazing rooms, very comfortable and beautiful decor with lovely little tatami area for tea.The bathroom and laundry was excellent, the clothes drying facility in the bathroom was ingenious, dried clothes overnight ready for the next day (very handy given how much it rains in Kanazawa!).Location was lovely next to the river, short walk into central Kanazawa and not far from Higashichaya.Masa san was the ultimate host, so kind, accommodating and gracious. He took pains to make sure we knew where to go, what the weather would be like (Kanazawa has a saying - you can forget your bento, but don't forget your umbrella!), helped us with Yamato luggage transfers, just a really lovely person.

    Nothing to improve.
