    Pros +

    • The hotel is within walking distance of the JR station. Facilities are clean and beautifully presented. The bath facilities are clean and have both a sit-down and a lay-down tub. Got their breakfast with my stay. They have a good spread of both Western and Asian cuisine options. Only stayed one night for a short visit, but would definitely stay here again.
    • One of my favourite hotels during my 25 day trip! Service was efficient, helpful and kind. Price was very reasonable. Everything was clean and I suspect new. Beautiful artwork in the room and outside. Comfortable beds and has a nice onsen too, with an amazing variety for breakfast including veggies. I stayed for 2 breakfasts but could have continued with their breakfast.
    • The staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is near great restaurants.

    Cons -

    • There are very few places you can hang your clothes and stuff.I did not like that the floor towel was hanging with the bath/body towel at the bathroom door. They need to add an appropriate place for different kinds of towels. No luggage rack for opening your luggage.
    • Not great if you have a lot of luggage. No breakfast offered.
    • I am a foreigner who has lived in Japan for over a decade. I have never been asked to present my residence card when checking in at other hotels or ryokan. However, the receptionist requested my residence card and explained that it was “hotel policy to prevent crime.”When I asked whether Japanese guests are also required to show their ID, she answered “no.” This implies that only foreigners are treated as potential criminals while Japanese are presumed innocent. I find this policy very discriminatory and troubling.

Location close to the train station, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. A nice public bath

Having a sink in the room instead of the bathroom was a bit awkward, but I knew what I was getting myself into from the photos.

It’s very close to the train station.

    Clean and comfortable.

I love everything. The hotel is very clean, the staff are amazing. Transaction was smooth and easy from check in to check-out. The facilities are great, although I didn’t get to use the public bath - but having that option for the price point is already great!I like the set up of the bathroom, it’s Japanese style where you get to have a bathtub and then you have the shower area where you can sit. Also the room is quite spacious enough. At least 2 medium size luggage can fit perfectly I would say for the room that I got. I like the lights as well, they have bright and dim yellow light. They got a window too. Also, it’s around 6-8 minutes walk from the JR station, there’s an underpass and lift accessibility so it’s perfect - it wouldn’t be difficult to go to this hotel from JR station.I like the hotel and Kanazawa so much that I extended my stay for another day. I’m planning my next trip to Kanazawa again, and definitely will book this hotel again. For the price point, I’d say I get more than what I paid for. I have booked several hotels across Japan, and I would say this is the best hotel I’ve been to (for its range).

I like everything, but probably the only thing is there’s not much nearby restaurant. You have to go to the station.

My husband and I stayed in Room 312 at Hotel Vista Kanazawa 4 nights in late October/early November. While small by some standards, we thought our room was a pretty good size for Japan. The bed was comfortable, and I really appreciated the wall mounted reading laps and side tables on both sides of the bed. I liked that the toilet was in one room and the Ofuro shower/deep tub was in a separate room. (Also, although I didn’t try it, the hotel has a public Ofuro for their guests.) Breakfast was included in our room charge. The breakfast room was large, and the floor to ceiling windows let in a lot of natural light. I thought the buffet was well done, with both Asian and Western offerings, and the coffee was very good. Overall, we would be happy to stay at the Hotel Vista Kanazawa again.

I didn’t like it that the sink was in the same room as the bed. The hotel is an easy walk to/from the train station, in which there are a number of shops and restaurants. However, it is not very close to the main tourist sites. We didn’t mind, as we enjoy walking. Others might rather use the loop bus or a taxi.

the location is fabulous, behind the JR Train station and Bus stops and dining wise great restaurants in easy walking distance and konbini down stairs literally. Room was a good size and the onsen was fantastic, it's seperate spa with choice of three different focus jets was wonderful especially for tired legs & feet.

    9LisaPosted on: 11-1-2025

Location was near Kanazawa Station, close to restaurants and buses. Enjoyed the women’s public bath that was secure ( only accessible with a key card) and had bubble jets to ease the muscles after a day of sight-seeing. Front desk staff was helpful.

Tea bags were not provided in the room; did not understand how to adjust the central air system to aircon. The front desk staff’s level of English could be better - having the translator device helped a little.

Friendly staff and very helpful Public bath is good.

No teabags and extra glasses in the room. No baggage racks

    8RolandaPosted on: 10-11-2025

Beautiful and simple interior. Great location close to the train station and a shopping mall (a bit further from city's attractions though). Amenities are stored in first floor and taken only on demand so great that environmental considerations have been done.

I understand that it is the culture, but spa was not tattoo friendly. There were no place to spend time outside the hotel room, like some cafeteria, etc. The breakfast was good and various, however other hotels in Japan had a bit better.

    9LiguoriPosted on: 10-8-2025

Room size, cleanliness, friendly staff, convenient location.

The coffee at the breakfast was not nice.

    9YongmeiPosted on: 8-5-2025

Convenient location, nice amenities and public onsen, great hotel staff/front desk that helped send my lost item to another hotel after I contacted them. Helped me with restaurant reservations too.

I left a bright colored cosmetic bag in the bathroom on the day of checkout and left my luggage at the front desk until 6/7pm that day before returning to retrieve it. I’m slightly disappointed that they did not notify me of my lost item or contact me more immediately after I left, I ended up sending it to another hotel I saw staying at that helped me send it internationally. However, maybe they were busy so I understand.

    9MyPosted on: 6-21-2025

I like the design of the room. Separate sink, bathtub and shower contains both modern and traditional Japanese style. Laundry machine is very clean

No hanger in sink area for hand towel or toiletries bags, which make the sink have limited space.

Very friendly and helpful staff. 5 minutes walk from the train station. Good and modern facilities. Spacious rooms.
