    • The location.
    • Quiet, central location with easy access to various beaches. Close to airport, but not noisy. Staff very helpful with sites to visit. Corrected booking issue and applied appropriate credit on their initiative. Generous bar tender!
    • Central location, close to everything

    Cons -

    • I stayed here two separate nights. The first night the room was terrible and on the first floor with no windows. The toilet and shower were an very odd height and difficult for my mother to use.
    • Towels dry well, but extremely rough. Watch sunburn! Funky smell in bathroom due to toilet brush canister with dirty water from brush. Same in many hotels in Europe because European toilet design (no water in bowl). Best shower in Greece!
    • No. Everything is perfect!

The location, the staff, the rooftop pool and restaurant, and the breakfast!

The shower in our room flooded easily and took a long time to drain

Central location, close to shops, restaurants, taxi station, museums and cinema. Amazing staff, clean room, comfortable bed.

Perfect location, everything we were looking for was within walking distance. The breakfast was plentiful. Lots of warm and cold options. The staff was courteous and the room was ready for my family.

We had a fantastic stay: spacious room,, great view, excellent breakfast with lots of choices and very fresh fruits and veggies. Ideally located in the city center with public bus service to and from the airport. We’ll be staying here again. All the staff were exceedingly polite, helpful, and knowledgeable about what we asked about. Located very close to an amazing archaeological museum.

    Nothing to dislike.

Location and remodeled room. DON'T book a Comfort Room unless you're OK with no windows.

Small elevator so if a group checks in it will take 20 minutes since the elevator only fits 3 and only 2 elevators. Pillows should be softer.

The location is good right on the Eleftherias square. It has a 24 hour reception which is helpful.

A few rooms have a nice view. The hotel is quite basic and seems a little old. Looks like it had it's prime. The front desk people instead of getting the visitors data written they were asking verbally which is a great fault in terms of privacy. Very unprofessional and wrong. Sharing with everyone the visitors addresses. Very hard to park in the area but this is the synonym of Herakleion.

Fantastic location! So convenient if you’re driving. The rooftop bar area was lovely, the buffet breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The pool was smaller than I expected.

Great staff, excellent location, great rooms, great parking service.

    9IosifPosted on: 11-10-2025

The rooms were beautifully renovated, super clean, the staff was extremely helpful, the location couldn't be better.

Some of the common areas were a bit old and worn down. The TVs were outdated. The breakfast had a lot of stuff but was always a bit basic. All these are details though to an overall excellent stay.

Great location - across the street from the Archaeological Museum, walking distance to many shops and restaurants.

    8JoanPosted on: 10-30-2025

Perfect location, friendly, helpful staff, a fabulous rooftop pool and bar.

Our room was very small- economy room- BUT everything else made up for it- really a great find.

    10JaclynPosted on: 10-24-2025

Both the room and bathroom size was great for 3 people. Breakfast was good. Location was right by a hop on hop off bus so it was a great spot to have a base for the stay in Heraklion. Room service was exceptional, the portions were good and the quality was 10/10. View from the hotel pool/bar was gorgeous.

The interior doors to the bedroom and the bathroom were very loud/creaky, but could have been avoided if we had let the staff know during our stay. Otherwise no notes.

We had a truly wonderful stay at the Capsis Astoria in Heraklion! The location is unbeatable; right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, museums, and historic sites. We felt completely safe walking around at all times, and everything we needed was just steps away. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Our room was comfortable and spotless, and the daily housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast was another highlight—great variety, fresh ingredients, and plenty of options for different dietary needs, which we really appreciated. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. A special thank you to Giannis and Tasos, who were absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. They offered fantastic recommendations for local tours and places to enjoy authentic Cretan food that we would never have found on our own. Their kindness and enthusiasm made us feel genuinely welcomed. If you are visiting Heraklion, we cannot recommend the Capsis Astoria enough. The combination of location, comfort, and exceptional service makes it an outstanding choice. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful experience, though updating the gym equipment would make it even better.

    10KellyPosted on: 10-7-2025

Our room was well appointed with beautiful modern design, comfortable beds & a great shower! We enjoyed the rooftop deck and pool and had a lovely sunset dinner there for a very reasonable price. The staff at the front desk arranged for our cab to the airport and the buffet breakfast was extensive and one of the best we’ve ever had on our travels! Very central location within walking distance to everything .

For an upscale hotel it would be nice to have real glasses and coffee mugs to drink from rather than the paper cups provided in the room.

    10KarenPosted on: 9-22-2025

Conveniently located in the city center. Across the plaza from the Archeological Museum. Tourist and city buses right there. Shopping and restaurants close by. Great breakfast buffet each morning.

    8MelissaPosted on: 9-15-2025

Well located in Heraklion - friendly staff.

The room we booked was on the smaller size and the bathroom sink was in the room, a few feet outside the bathroom.
