The hotel is a 2-star, but the service is over the top; even 4-star hotels don't take care of guests like the staff at the Athinaiko hotel. The city center is about 10-15 minutes away from the hotel, and you can see the sea from the window. Cats greet guests at the entrance, that's so adorable :)

The hotel is well located and easily accessible to the attractions and shopping precinct. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent

Perfect for sleep over. Close to airport, reception works all night. Simple breakfast included.

Close walk to the town, nearby supermarket, 10 minute drive to airport.

Parking can be a struggle but we managed, could use a toothbrush holder in the bathroom.

Nice clean room with comfortable beds. It was approx 15 min taxi ride to the airport and about 15 min walk to the tourist area of Heraklion.

A bit far from the main tourist area of that is what you are looking for. But easy walk.

Great location close to bus station, clean and exceptional receptionists. Good breakfast.

When we arrive the sink did not drain at all . After 1/2 hour the hotel staff finally decided to give us another room

I stayed there for 1 night and my experience at the hotel was great. I must highlight that the staff was very friendly and they were kind enough to let me check in earlier because my flight to Heraklion was prior to the official check-in time. I would definitely recommend!

Very very noisy ! But Impossible to sleep due to the main very noisy main street … bad construction too , you can hear every noise from the guests next doors Poor quality bfast , too little too basic

Poor staff and no parking made for a frustrating stay.

Unfortunately, this hotel was a complete disappointment. While the location is excellent—right in the city center—the lack of parking seriously impacted our stay. There are no designated spots, and since we visited Crete at the start of the high season, finding parking was a real challenge. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be in August!We called the hotel in advance to ask about parking, but the woman we spoke to was very rude and unhelpful. Check-in was also poorly handled—we were given two room keys and accidentally entered the wrong room due to a lack of clear communication. It felt very disorganized on the receptionist's part.To make matters worse, every morning before 8 AM, the cleaning staff made a lot of noise while working in the rooms next to us, which made it impossible to sleep in. Overall, the staff’s attitude and lack of coordination really made our stay unpleasant.
