    Pros +

    • Quite a decent for a transit stay. Walking distance to the ferry and we found a great local restaurant nearby for a dinner.
    • It was close to the port, so we could just walk there. It was in a quiet street without the noise of traffic. However it is directly under the aeroplane flight path, so the noise from the planes is rather loud……but they did stop flying for most of the night until 5am or so.It had really good shutters for the windows and curtains too, which made the room nice and dark overnight.
    • the hotel is clean enough and the bed was comfortable. It was a double room, which was fine for me alone, but would have been very cramped for two people The room had a cute little balcony.

    Cons -

    • You do hear airplanes (even in the night), but we still had a good night sleep.
    • It was fine for a night stopover but not really in a location you would want to stay in for long. The beds were not very comfortable….thin & you could feel the springs, and the pillows were also very thin & didn’t support my neck.
    • The hotel is near the airport, which is convenient but extremely noisy. The planes flying low over the hotel make a huge amount of noise and continue for much of the night. And there is a loud garbage truck right under the window around 5 a m Additionally, their elevator starts one floor up, which could be problematic for people with big suitcases. Also, the lady at reception was very nice, but spoke very little English, so couldn't really answer my question. Later, a man who spoke better English was there, also very nice.

We stayed 1 night as we had late arrival. Easy to get from airport by public bus and bus stop is very close. Nice clean room with balcony, even with side sea view, as discovered in the morning :) Breakfast was a bit suprize, (as there were no buffee) it was prepared personally and brought to the table:) The main road is quite away, so yo dont hear the traffic. We even havent heard plains flying over the head:)

It was close to the airport and I checked in late

It stank of cigarettes and is under the airport takeoff runway flight path

The hotel is located relatively close to the airport and very close to the main city road. Rooms are spacious and there is air conditioning. Spacious bathroom.

Can be difficult to get a deep night rest due to hearing the aircrafts very close. The beds are regular in terms of comfort.

    Location

Very uncomfortable old bed. Has not been updated in 30+ years.

Good location, not far from airport a d city center.Gentle staff, clean and safe.

No tv in room, showee / toilet to small.

Good place for a short stay. At a walking distance to the port so that's a plus. The room was clean and beds decent. We were about to take a ferry to Santorini for a one day visit and host kindly accepted to store our luggage at the hotel until we got back.

The hotel is very close to the airport so if you are a light sleeper maybe not a good choice. We were very tired so slept like babies though till it was time to catch the ferry.

Convenience and location. Clean room close to the port, ideal for an early ferry. Polite staff.

All good as shown in photos. A good basic hotel.

    6ManuelaPosted on: 7-27-2024

The staff was kind and allowed me to leave my luggage there for the day on my last day, whilst I was out sightseeing. The room was very small, with no table/desk, but it was clean, and had a fridge with a bottle of water.

I would have appreciated a desk/table in the room so that I could do some work. One of the two staff members at the reception doesn't speak English, making the communication quite difficult. The location is ~ 20 mins away from the city centre (but totally doable by foot).

    8KaterinaPosted on: 7-26-2024

Value for money, convenient location near the port. Clean and descent.

    9SilvijaPosted on: 7-25-2024

It wasn't fancy, but the price and quality ratio was adequate. I really enjoyed a spot to grab some excellent coffee near the hotel called "Steam".

The distance from the hotel to the old town includes going downhill and uphill so going on foot is even harder in the heat. Also, the noise of departing planes is quite loud, would not recommend choosing this place for sensitive people.

    2MariyaPosted on: 7-24-2024

    Clean

It was extremely noisy not only because the planes but also because the other people in the hotel. The walls are super thin and the doors are wooden so no isolation at all

    9OliverPosted on: 7-16-2024

I stayed here because it was a cheap bed close to the airport (30 mins walk) for an early flight. The hotel does represent good value.

The place is perhaps starting to get a little tired but this is an observation more than a complaint and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again in the same circumstances.Like a couple of places I’ve stayed on the island the WiFi seemed a bit weak, so I wonder if this is more of an infrastructure issue.

    9NataliaPosted on: 6-25-2024

Easy to reach on foot: walk 10 min from port (turn left at the circle, walk about 1km,then turn right uphill ,walk another150 m. 10 min walk from airport bus stop (by the Shell garage). Short stroll to the AB supermarket, Archeological museum and bus to Knossos. Beach is 2 km away, next one about 3 km away. Room was a good size, bed is soft, large balcony with the table and chairs. There were table and chairs inside the room as well and refrigerator was a big bonus. Bathroom was clean, strong hot water, plenty of fresh towels provided, also soap and shampoo. We asked for a blankets and were given. Aircon and TV were in a good order, we enjoyed watching movie with Harrison Ford. We requested breakfast and we served good percolated coffee, freshly toasted ham and cheese sandwiches, eggs, jam, juice, more toasted bread and excellent butter ( all at 5 euro for 2 persons). We were allowed to our room a few hours before stipulated time. Chrysoula (Kris) was a kindness itself. We could leave our luggage at reception upon checking out and use bathroom. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

WIFI is stronger at Reception area. Send your pictures there.

    Right location for our needs

Dated, shower in a very bad shape, beds were rather uncomfortable

Good place when you have to stay in Heraklion overnight. Very simple, very basic, but with 24 hour reception……..and everything works!

The noise from the airplanes since it’s next to the airport, but there are not that many flights coming in or leaving Heraklion.

    8MyriamPosted on: 6-7-2024

The reception opening hours are very lenient. It's very close to the port and close to the bus station: it's ideal for a transit

The planes are a bit loud though there's no traffic during the night

    5SinclairPosted on: 5-15-2024

This was just a spot we chose to get some sleep and be close to the port because we had an 8:00am speedboat ride to Naxos.

It is a very tired, old hotel. The furniture and general decor needs a major upgrade. And the room had a musty smell. But it was clean and that is important to us.
