REF Kumamoto by VESSEL HOTELS

The property was perfect for my stay. My wife has been in the hospital for several months and I visit her for a minimum of 2 weeks every month. The location of REF Hotel is a short walk to the hospital and the onsen is a perfect way for me to unwind and stay focused on my health and mental fortitude. The entire staff is so nice and supportive of me and I feel so welcomed.

There is nothing I didn’t like about the property.

The modern and clean infrastructure, the onsen, the location and especially the staff.

The property is perfect; although some guests are not completely aware of proper Japanese onsen manners.

We love how convenient it was for location that you can just walk down the hotel to get everything you need and transportation was just outside the hotel. The best part is the Aircon system was working even during winter.

For people with tattoos I wish they have specific time Like 1-2hrs window for them to use the onset or sauna.

There was not so much counter space so it was hard to pack & unpack things, & it was hard to put makeup on with the mirrors they had on the wall or nailed in the small drawer

Great location in relation to sights to see and the bus station; a short bus ride from the train station (F1-1).

Room was quite small even for Japanese standards… wouldn’t work for a longer stay.

The hotel is located in a great location, right in a shopping district, close to popular malls and surrounded by many good and delicious restaurants. There is a 7-Eleven nearby. Parking is not far from the hotel and the fee is reasonable. Although the room is a bit small, it is comfortable. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options.

Location is superb. Just across the street from Sakuramachi which is a convenient small mall. Tram stop just across(middle of street) to go Kumamoto Station. It's located in a sheltered shopping alley which is ideal for quick drugstore shopping, meals/breakfast and access to combini.

The beds could have been better but not really a big issue.

Everything except the parking lot

Location is close to restaurants, mall, subway but there is no hotel parking nor valet. Park at a nearby paid parking lot in front of the mall or at three paid parking lots associated with the hotel for some discount (should have asked them before I went there)

The room was very clean. Friendly staff. The location is excellent. A wonderful breakfast.

The room is VERY small and expensive for the size and the cost.

Great rooms, fast elevators and an awesome onsen to relax after a long day!

The location of the hotel is top, it is sitting in the shopping street, nearby bus/tram station and nearby by famous must goes of Kumamoto city. It offers really nice breakfast choice, well equipped also with supplements for the clients.

The onsen was amazing and so was the breakfast. Best we had in our stay in Japan for the past week.

Oddly no coffee or tea were provided in the rooms. You could bring up teabags from the reception but to have coffee you would have to go down to the lounge in reception.
