Aso Resort Grandvrio Hotel

Nice and clean resort. Room is a spacious and good view. Breakfast is wonderful. We really enjoy the breakfast. Unfortunately, we only stay for 1 night. If any opportunity, will love to stay longer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thanks to their service.

The view is amazing

It is outdated. The outside is great, so It would be a great place if It get a upgrade.

Far away from any city, the hotel offers large rooms, an onsen, a golf... I was lucky to have a balcony overlooking the golf, and the view was both peaceful and beautiful. Sherry on the cake: the breakfast is good and good value for money.

Don't go if you have back problems: mattresses are so firm, it's like sleeping on hard wood; very unpleasant. And because the hotel is a large one with a golf business to run, entire buses of tourists stay there, transforming the peaceful place into a noisy nest. The breakfast room is so large to accommodate all these people, it's like having breakfast in Tokyo Station...

The onsen, the large and comfortable room, the generous buffet breakfast, the scenery.

Dufficult to reach the hotel without a car. Nothing organised for non-golfer guests during our stay, difficult to exchange in english.

The hotel has good views over a huge valley with steeply wooded sides. It's very quiet. The hotel's onsen has an outside section which is very pleasant. Meals are canteen-style and the evening meal has a tremendous range of different things to choose from.

The rooms are arranged on very, very long corridors not broken up by doors and without soft carpeting, so when people have conversations while walking along the corridor, you can hear them for minutes on end. The bed was too hard, an old-fashioned coil spring type mattress. The hotel is geared up for large groups of golfers, some of whom weren't the most polite, talking too loudly and pushing ahead in queues for example.

Public bath was available from 5am.There were several free board games on top of some free activities such as putter golf and table tennis available.The stunning view from the room.

Big comfortable room with fantastic views over the golf course and Kuju Mountains.

The hotel is in the golf resort, located near the west Aso mountain. It is about 10 min driving distance from the downtown train station and 30 min from the Aso summit. Great location if you want to seek a quiet and peaceful experience in winter.Bath hall is at the separate building, the hot spring is definitely a must-visit. Breakfast and dinner buffet are nice. A little pricy but worthwhile.

We liked the wonderful breakfast!Rooms needed updating. Hot-cold mixers were still old 2-knobs hot and cold type.Hotel location is within 30mins from Aso caldera visitor parking so we can visit as often as you want.This hotel within the golf course has beautiful views especially in the mornings. Lovely to look at even if you don't play golf.

Hard to get to unless driving. A little old. Breakfast buffet variety is small and lack luster.

Staff were rude and unwelcoming. Over priced everything and couldn't do any of the activities we wanted to at the hotel. Extremely disappointing, we will never stay there again and would tell others to avoid

The entrance road is too dark at night.The room doesn't keep any noise. You can hear anybody talk and walk around the hallway - especially when you got the room among the tourist group and they walk to each other rooms all night.

We liked the crab buffet and drinks. The hotel is large and many accessories. Though we can't see Aso mountaun this time due to Typhoon, the view from restaurant and room would be beautiful.

The staff can speak English. The lady there helped us call a car rental company and everything. She was very helpful and fast.
