Dormy Inn Kumamoto Natural Hot Spring

Hot spring, walk distance one block away from meeting center, shopping mall, bus center. It is very convenient location. You can take bus (1000 yuan) from airport to the hotel. The breakfast is Japanese style buffet.

Overall, clean, good onsen, good value.

This wasn’t our first time staying at Dormy Inn, and it definitely won’t be our last. We love staying here for the spacious rooms and excellent facilities at an affordable price. This time, we chose it for the convenience of the location, right across from Sakura Machi Mall and easy access to the tram with a daily pass, which made getting around a breeze.As always, we enjoyed the onsen bath, which includes both indoor and outdoor options, plus a hot sauna and cold bath. The highlight for me, though, was the outdoor bath at this Kumamoto branch, being able to look up at the sky and see the moon and stars was unforgettable. It was such a peaceful and serene experience.The complimentary supper and free snacks were a nice touch, and the comfortable bed guaranteed a great night’s sleep.We’ll definitely look for Dormy Inn locations in other cities on our next trip to Japan. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and value!

Onsen is nice but little rundown from use.Location is good we can walk to nearby Christmas market and shopping arcade which we had dinner and breakfast there.

onsen is heavy used. it should be due to renovation soon. other than that it is dormy inn style. good stay good onsen.

Breakfast, location to the castle, shopping, hot springs

Perfectly close to central Kumamoto and Kumamoto castle. Hot spring at dormy is a huge plus.

The price was kind of high.

We love the Dormy Inns. Comfortable beds, cotton bedding and lovely onsens. This one was a little worn and could have done with upgrading especially their coffee machines. No tea or hot chocolate

Good location near the airport bus

The bathroom smells urine the whole time. Even when we closed the bathroom door, the urine smells permeated to the bedroom area making the whole unit smells urine.

1. Great breakast offeredd by hotel.2. Good location for restaurants and city trams. 10 minute walk to the castle, main sightseeing location in city.3. Good attempt at creating onsen experience, but rather small.

1 .Like the many hotels I've stayed at in Japan, the rooms are small, but clean.2. Again, like every other Japanese hotel, the pillows are a disgrace. Too small and too soft, they are not comfortable and could be improved with minimal expense.

Great onsen, great hotel. I think the Dormy Inn brand of hotels are my favourite brand of hotels in Japan. They are so comfortable and are reasonably sized for Japan. the massive bonus is having an onsen of quality in the hotel and being able to go for a hot bath in the provided pajamas and slippers is quite a treat. I always sleep well in these hotels and that cant be said for a lot of Japanese hotels.

The Olsen and location was great

The property was a little rundown, the room had a funny smell that would not go away, and there was a lot of cigarette smells even on the non-smoking floors

The only nice thing was the onsen and location - the mall and outdoor shopping strip about 10-15 minute walk.

The room was so dusty I ended up wearing the hotel slippers because I did not want to track dust into my bed from my feet. Our TV remote was so dirty I touched it with tissues. I asked the cleaning staff to clean the TV remote and came back to my room with it not cleaned. I was so grossed out. I also did not want to use the shower in the room because there was dirt and mold on the shower head and drain. Very unlike Japan standards. I was very disappointed.

Conveniently located near Shimotori with its many restaurants and shops, and directly opposite the Sakura Machi Bus Terminal, which made my onward journey much simpler. Great breakfast with many delicious options (mainly Japanese). Onsen bath is very nice – but it gets crowded late at night so beater to go at other times.

The hotel and its amenities look old and dated. Everything is brown. The rooms are not the cleanest (dusty carpet in the corners, mould in the shower which I didn’t use anyway). The elevators smell a bit of tobacco.

Good location near the shopping arcade and the Kumamoto castle. The hot spring bath is definitely a plus. The breakfast was excellent with western and Japanese food. A comfortable hotel also for a family.

It is a little away from the JR Kumamoto station.

Huge ques for breakfast. Power sockets not convinient. Staff did not try to help with requests. Location is good only if you have business in center of Kumamoto. Expenssive parking and heavy traffic to get in and out of city

the spa is very good, beautifully designed with outdoor and indoor pools. top notch shower facility. free ice cream, free Yakult drink! free washing machine, microwave oven, and ice machine.

the room is a little small

The onsen was exceptional. Really nice. The extras Dormy provides like the free evening ice cream and late night ramen were great, although we didn’t make it down for the ramen on this visit. The location was fantastic. It’s walking distance to the Kumamoto Castle and close to a mall and tram stops.

The staff as a little less friendly than at other Dormy locations but that may be because fewer spoke English and there were fewer international visitors.

Nice car parking. Wonderful breakfast and clean room. Friendly staff. Everything feels good. Excellent experience.
