    • We loved the room size, comfortable bed and pillows, and the fabulous sky spa. The sauna and cold plunge were especially great after walking in the city. Candeo is always a great value for the price.
    • Great room and facilities; service was exceptional.

    Cons -

    • While it did not have as many free amenities as other hotels, the room, facilities and services more than made up for it.
    • The hotel itself is okay - good location, decent size rooms for Japan. But that’s where it ends. The service provided by the staff is lacking. There was an issue with the luggage forwarding service they offer - a mistake they admitted they themselves did. And no solution or compensation was made. They admitted to the mistake and nothing else. More than that - their answers kept changing, and promises were changed with each response. They assured us they will contact us with information by a certain point of time but failed to actually do so until I contacted them via email. They’ve been entirely unhelpful and considering the fact they’re a chain hotels here in Tokyo I would have expected a higher degree of professionalism and service provided. Their only “compensation” over the fact our luggage might not arrive on time for our flight back home from Tokyo is free breakfast in our next visit. Will not be returning

    Clean hotel.

Two elevators out of 4 were not working and being repaired. Reception is on 12th floor. So huge inconvenience. Made it work but this had been the case since Aug 11th when there was a lot of rain. Unfortunate but inconvenient when big groups came in.

Spacious room and so comfortable. Great location beside the bus terminal that got us to everywhere we needed to go in Kumamoto. Near to tram station as well. Onsen was a lovely touch!

Location was great. Rooftop sky spa was lovely

The buffet breakfast was not as good as other hotels We have stayed in,

Great location close to shopping and restaurants. The general manager Satishi was very helpful when we lost our credit card at the restaurant we ate the last night before we flew out. He called the restaurant and left a message for us. The next day morning we got an email relied from the hotel that the restaurant didn't have our card. We have cancelled our card so no big deal. However, we appreciated their follow-up on this matter. Thanks

    Location clean

Some Elevators not working. Long time to exit

    8RaymondPosted on: 11-1-2025

Very, very nice lay out for the room - with a banquette against the large panoramic window; better than average bed (not as hard as most in Japan). Nice TV with easy access to Netflix and YouTube. Super location with easy walking access to stores, restaurants, and the bus station (with its first class food and retail area - worlds apart from a North American bus station).

Their restrictive room cleaning times (before 9:00 am). The buffet breakfast has an imposed time limit of 45 minutes. So there’s no lingering over a coffee before having to begin eating. Most locals come in, eat and leave. Not ideal for many leisure travellers. So we skipped after the first day.

Located next to the shopping arcade and close to the Kumamoto Castle. Onsen. Good breakfast.

    None noted.

    The property is beautiful

Our room had the view of the parking lot, not nice. The toilet did not smell so nice.

The spa was 'Onsen' style (no bathing suits allowed), but that was not clear when booking the hotel. The reception staff were professional, but not welcoming.

Good locationNice room, if small as usual in JapanNice bathroom, bigger tham average

Brakefeast not very good, so the room itself, as the diversity and presentation of the food.Tha access to the garage in the house is slow in the morning (single ) car-elevator

I made a mistake before. The room wasn’t small - it was a decent size. The onsen and location was great too

    10EleanorPosted on: 4-14-2025

Lovely modern hotel. Nice spa, great breakfast big bedrooms.

    10BiyuPosted on: 4-1-2025

    - We paid extra for 1 day of breakfast, and it was delicious. (The Takana Rice and Dago Soup is a must try! )- The shared onsen on the top floor was enjoyable.- The staff was friendly and welcoming.-The hotel is located near a shotengai, making it convenient to walk to Don Quijote, pharmacies, and other shops. A famous tonkatsu restaurant and a nearby mall add to the convenience.-Kumamoto Castle is just a short walk away.- The hotel is also only four tram stations (about 15 minutes) from Kumamoto Station.- Onsen is open from 3pm all the way to 11am next day meaning you can use them in wee hours too!

The onsen crowd level displayed on the TV was inaccurate. It showed as unoccupied, but in reality, it was slightly crowded. This could be disappointing for those who are shy about using a public onsen, as they might expect an empty space but find it crowded upon arrival.

Location is very near bus station and at the heart of Kumamoto city.Bath at the roof was fantastic.

    I don't really have it.
