Suizenji Comfort Hotel

Close to JR station.

A good hotel with typical Japanese service. Everything on offer was pretty standard for the GR chain, but it was cleaner than Suisenji and Kenchomae. The staff was very helpful and relaxed. The breakfast was very generous: a buffet, though with a traditional selection. Suisenji Park is very close. Overall, if you're not obsessed with downtown living, I highly recommend it.

Hm... everything was good. You could argue that the room could have been bigger, but it would have been a completely different hotel. :) And we were there for a specific purpose, so I didn't feel any inconvenience. However, all hotels have inconvenient household washing machines; it would be better if they had large commercial ones everywhere. :)

breakfast was really tasty. I enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast options but also the yogurt, fruit and bread options were very nice to have. The fresh supply of nightwear was a nice touch. i made use of a nightgown and kimono style gown.

no soap in the bathroom so i used the body wash instead. The shampoo and body wash were basic. The toilet was a little dirty behind the seat and could do with being cleaned better.

Breakfast was served from 6.30-9.30am, a later breakfast would have been good - say to 10am. Bathroom products were a little basic and the bathroom a little tired but good facilities.

The breakfast is average. However you can take it you your room. This is the main feature here i think. I stay in kumamoto every year for 3 weeks. this will be my go to hotel.

Location was convenient for Suizenji garden and Shin Suizenji Station.Room was quiet and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful..no English. They looked after my luggage. Breakfast was excellent, tasty and imaginative, Japanese style.

Don’t have available car parking so I have to park the car outside the hotel and pay extra for parking.

You get what you pay for. This is one of the cheapest single rooms I could find in Kumamoto, but it is clearly worn down. Nothing to complain about in terms of cleanliness though. The room is slightly bigger than the standard size at this prize, there was enough space between the bed and the desk. There are no hangers by the exit, but you get a small wardrobe by the desk. There is a fabric freshener too. The desk is quite big, so you can do work comfortably if you have any. The best part is the large bath and a spacious bathroom. Also I didnt expect the view to be this good (I stayed on the 8th floor). You can get a nice yukata or a bathrobe by the elevator.The hotel is 3 min away from the bus stop from where you can get to Fukuoka for around 2300 yen.

The tea was plain terrible and the trash can was tiny. The furniture is old, though it does the job.

Nice breakfast with local foods. Kind staff.

Free bicycle rental was very good. Easy to move around.
