Beautiful old mansion with elegant dining room and patio, Perfect location in historic center, near restaurants and museums, free parking, good security. Excellent breakfast with cold buffet and hot dishes cooked to order. Quiet.

Needs a gym. Has a spa and pool but no exercise equipment.

The location is perfect for taking in the historical area of Petropolis, the 1875 mansion functioning as a hotel is beautiful, the restaurant Leopoldina is one of tthe best in the area

The room, and particularly the bathroom, was a bit worn around the edges

Breakfast was excellent! Good options in the buffet area plus several selections direct from the kitchen. All delicious.

An excellent hotel ,beautiful rooms , gardens with tropical trees and flower and swimming pools.. Great location close to all the sites.The service was excellent, and English was spoken. The food breakfast and dinner excellent. .I recommend it 10O percent .

Nothing this cannot be said for all the other hotels we stayed in in Brazil.

Tha classic historical building, the garden, the restaurant, the friendly staff, the location in the historical center of the city.

The location of the hotel is superb with lots of history. The building itself dates from 1875. Great garden, great views. The restaurant is great. The breakfast is just wonderful and very generous.

Noise in the hotel rooms. As this is an historic building very little can be done by the way of keeping the noise from the busy road at bay. Make sure you get a room not facing the street.

Cleaning environment, excellent personnel! Imperial architecture, built in 1888. Nearby all touristic attractions!

Excellent location. Walking distance to all historic buildings. Super friendly staff, clean, luxurious, with a delicious and well-served breakfast. You can also have lunch, snacks, and dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Very good beakfast. The location is central in a small city, so mostly we could walk.

The old style hotel has beautiful grounds, and it's very close to the town centre and local attractions. The ladies who gave us our massage were so lovely and the massage was amazing.

No tea or coffee facilities in the room, the surfaces were dirty when we arrived, our room was right under the dining room so every meal time the noise above us was unbearably loud, there was no glasses in the room for water, the windows were covered with shutters, not glass so the noise from passers-by was loud late in to the night, and our phone was broken in our room and wasn't fixed. I get that this is an old building but I've stayed in much nicer refurbed old hotels. I'm very perplexed by all these people saying it was amazing! Definitely not our experience.

Beautiful building

Bedroom acoustic terrible. Could not sleep. Staff very umprepared. Sauna cold. Poor amenities. Not worth value. Bedroom courtains and puffs gave allergies.

Property has lots of potential, the beautiful gardens could use some better gardening care, the furniture needs new upholstery and cleaning

A unique hotel in a historic Victorian-era building. Huge rooms with tall ceilings, beautiful wood floors, huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing -- great service, huge range of choices. Hotel restaurant is decorated with unique tropical-themed murals. We ate dinner there one night -- excellent. House is set in a large tropical garden

Our room was in a separate building from the main house. Pool is tiny. The facilities are all slightly "tired" - understandable in such an old mansion.

Hidden taxes at checkout beyond the price agreed in booking. Not state taxes but "hotel service taxes".
