    • We were warmly welcomed despite arriving at 2am after a delayed flight. Extremely comfortable rooms which are beautifully clean. Breakfast was delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and we were very well looked after. Thank you!
    • lovely stay, with lovely hosts who went out of their way to be friendly, kind, and helpful. the place is serene, perfect for working in Kigali. the room is basic and functional, while the gardens surrounding simply invite you to sit and work and rest.visitors should kno that there is no meal plan, but it is possible to order, each day, delicious meals prepared by the hosts.
    • You can tell the owner is on it. Every little detail in the place is thought of. Smell? It smells extremely good. Art? On point. Owner arranged a taxi for us very late and stayed up for our arrival. Very good stay!

    Cons -

    • -
    • they only have a few rooms, so not great for big groups
    • We were two people sharing a room and we paid $100+ per night for double occupancy. We requested a second bed and were told that one would be provided. No quote for that service was provided though booking.com stated that there may be charges for any extras. However, upon paying our bill, we realized that we were charged $65 USD per night for that extra twin bed- not for an extra person but just for the bed itself. That amount is equivalent to 1/2 of the normal room rate, what you might expect for an additional person but NOT JUST FOR A SMALL ROLLAWAY BED. For that price we could have stayed in a posh hotel that served breakfast and provided more extensive service. We are giving a poor review based primarily on this issue and we will not recommend this accommodation to anyone that we know.

We had two separate bookings at this stunning accommodation. We were able to leave our bags as we went on a tour around Rwanda and returned to the same property.

Friendly and helpful staff. Isabelle and Justine are so kind and welcoming. We ordered dinner and breakfast during our visit. The food was fantastic, so well presented and cooked for us personally. This is not a hotel but a home away from home. Nestled between Kigali city centre and the airport it was a wonderful place to stay.. we organised our return travel to the airport and allowed us an extra late checkout.. superb in every way .

I have stayed here twice recently and felt extremely well looked after by Justine and the team. Highly recommend!

We liked our room- very clean and well supplied. We liked our host; she was very friendly and accommodating. However, we feel that she deceived us and overcharged us- see below.

What a wonderful place to stay. We had a very warm welcome. The two sisters that own the guest house are thoroughly professional and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and honestly the best cappuccino! Sadly for us we were only there for one night but I would highly recommend it.

    10AndresPosted on: 10-30-2024

The place itself was beautiful, clean, and cozy. However, the real gem was the host, Isabel, who was very helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant was excellent.

Isabelle and Justine, who co-run the hotel, are the absolute best. They took such great care of us while also feeling like we were staying with friends. The food (we had breakfast each day and one night had dinner) was some of the best we had in Rwanda, and well worth the cost. We stayed in two different types of room (King and Junior Suite - both upgraded from the rooms we had booked!) and they were clean, spacious, and well decorated, with air conditioning, a good shower and extras like a Nespresso machine. The location is between the aiport and the city centre, on a quiet street but close to a main road for taxis/moto-taxis.

    Nothing!

Clean, good quality, furnishings, comfortable bed, good size room fast Wi-Fi. Amazing food, and hosts that will do anything to help.

Everything! We used Villa Asimba as a sort of base camp to explore the national parks of Rwanda. We began and ended our vacation there. It was so lovely to come back to the hotel after 5 days of traveling around. Isabel's hospitality and warmth were unrivaled. It was a million times better than staying in a big box hotel. We appreciate our privacy and found Villa Asimba to be the perfect mix of comfort, hospitality and privacy.

Nothing. Don't hesitate to book this lovely hotel.

The hotel is very clean and quaint and Isabel made us feel very welcome. It was a great location.

Justine and Isabelle received us with exceptional friendliness and warmth. They were always willing and available to help, I fondly remember our many chats and laughter. The room was sparkling clean and spacious. The day started with fresh fruit and homemade croissants,  topped up with whatever else you wished for. Thank you for the special cake and even German rye bread! We enjoyed every single of their delicious dinner suggestions,  taking us from European to African and International cuisine. Thank you for making dinner such a memorable culinary experience! The pistachio sauce will remain my favourite:-)"The Villa" and our lovely hosts Isabelle and Justine will always be on our minds. T+I.PS. The special roast Rwandan coffee  adds a special moment and memory to every day :-)

The staff and owners of Villa Asimba make the experience truly amazing. The property is not considered 5 Star, however, they have delivered service that rivals any 5-star hotel. The property is small and intimate. They have a pool and a nice covered, outdoor, seating area. The menu is limited, but they will take requests if you order early. Again, the best part of the experience was the 2 sisters who own the property and their helpful staff. This was our second time staying with them and we highly recommend them.

The only thing we could think of was the property needed faster, more stable internet. However, we have found that this is not just their property, its Rwanda as a whole.

The hosts were lovely, especially Isabelle. Friendly and helpful. Location was not far from town. Food was of a good standard.

What makes Villa Asimba (as others have said) are the two sisters who own and run the hotel, Justine and Isabelle. They are totally delightful and kind. As testament, they have many repeat customers. It is a charming boutique hotel, elegantly furnished, with small pool and very peaceful The photos are totally accurate. The bedroom was lovely (comfortable bed) with en suite bathroom and good shower. Waking to the sound of bird song in the mornings was a sheer delight along with the anticipation of the lovely breakfasts including plenty of local fruit. (I also loved Isabelle's home-made dinners.) There is good aircon in the bedrooms if you want it. WIFI was spot on. There is a Simba supermarket about 10 minutes’ walk away. You can speak a mix of English and French if you wish (as I did). I was there for three days for a mini holiday before moving to a big conference hotel. My experience at the "Villa" as it is known, was so special that I promised to return on my last day before leaving for the airport for one last visit and a final dinner. It was with great sadness that I bid farewell after tender beef in peanut sauce washed down with a chilled Virunga beer. They have relationships with excellent taxi drivers, one of whom, Papy, is also a great guide to the city (we did the Kigali Cultural Centre and an art gallery and cafe (Niyo Arts Gallery-both excellent) plus visits to different zones of the city including business and residential areas) and a delight to spend time with. He was waiting at the airport on my arrival at 07.00 (direct from London Heathrow with RwandAir who were very good- 8.5 hour overnight flight) with my name clearly indicated. For those planning to do safaris or to travel to see the mountain gorillas, all that can be arranged.

There was nothing not to like! Justine, who handles the booking side, was super responsive (and patient) to my numerous questions in the month or two before my trip! Isabelle is brilliant and so incredibly flexible and calm in helping clients. She also provided advice on things to do and see, restaurants (many good places to eat in Kigali with a variety of cuisines), ATMs, where to get SIM cards etc. etc. I hope that one day I’ll get the chance to go back!
