Candeo Hotels Matsuyama Okaido

This was my third trip to Japan, and I can say without a doubt that Candeo Hotels Matsuyama Okaido is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in this country. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away.The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, and I was so relieved that they spoke excellent English, which made check-in and asking for recommendations a breeze. Every interaction was a pleasure.The real highlights for me were the amenities. The spa is absolutely amazing – so relaxing and luxurious, it was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring Matsuyama. Waking up to the beautiful views from my room was incredible, and the breakfast spread was equally amazing. There was such a wide variety of delicious options, and it was the best start to my day. It was very light.I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It truly made my trip special, and I will absolutely be staying here again on my next visit to Japan. Thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful experience!

The hotel reception is on the 13th floor or something, so that was interesting. Rooms have reasonable views for most of them. I only stayed for one night, so I didn't get the full taste of this place. The location was nice, though, as it's next to okaido, which is a nice shotengai.

It's a central location, but it is a bit away from everything, including the station. There's a slight bit of travel to get to places, but it does have the available public transportation nearby to do so.

The hotel looks good from the outside but inside it's not great. They put the smoking room at the check in lobby level, so the entire corridor reeked of cigarette smell. The room was stuffy and after one night it was super humid. The bathroom's ventilation doesn't seem to work. And I reckon if anyone stayed beyond 2 nights the room and its damp smell/feeling would be quite unbearable. The room also doesn't feel clean. The window cannot be opened so we couldn't ventilate the room. Breakfast was crowded when we went down at 715am. Had to wait in line to be seated for another 15 mins. Breakfast selection was quite limited.Minor point but the entrance was a bit confusing. The panel that slid to the side was the wooden panel not the glass panel so that was very counterintuitive.

Room had a weird smell & was small and tight. No parking. The breakfast line was over an hour long both days.

The location is terrific, close to tram station, restaurants, and stores yet quiet. The room was decent sized and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and the restaurant had wonderful views. Staff were professional and very helpful.

The room was a bit tired and could use a bit of deep-cleaning and refreshing as there were spots and scrapes throughout the walls and dust here and there. The window could not be opened and we felt a bit “sealed in.” This also made the room very humid with noticeable condensation on the window after a shower.

Beautiful views from the lobby of the castle and parkland, which were only 10 mins walk away. Very firm mattresses.Good buffet breakfast. Lovely womans onsen with limited viewing out,

Amazing facilities, across the road from both a bus stop and tram stop. Also a large shopping arcade just a few metres down the road. Many local restaurants, chemists and shops available also. Easy walk to Matsuyama Castle chair lift, and a short tram ride from Dogo Onsen and Dogo park.

The water spring could look the sky very relaxing, and the staff services are hospitably, the breakfast and view are perfect!

The staffs are all very friendly and helpful, especailly the mid-age gentleman that he could speak fairly fluent English. The facilities, design and decor were all exceeded my expectation. The room was pretty big and looked stylish. We ordered a day with breakfast at the reception during check in and I thInk the breakfast was quite good with reasonable choices of food, and the restaurant was clean, spacious and stylish with excellent view of the Matsuyama Castle. The location of the hotel is excellent that it is right at the centre of Matsuyama.I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Location is very central, close to most places of interest within walking distance. Staffs are great, went extra miles to ensure our stays are comfortable. Breakfast were delicious. We were even allowed to sit in and enjoy our breakfast even after breakfast time ends.

Bizarrely you can’t get a hot coffee, you need to buy drinks from a machine to use the lounge. Appalling breakfast

Slightly dated compared to other Candeo hotels, but for the very cheap price it was worth it. Nice enough room, and very good Onsen facilities.

Electronics, I.e TV, Kettle, lighting could do with an upgrade.

The location is really prime, right in the center!The view of the spa is really cool.

The parking situation was really confusing, and I hope the hotel can provide a more accurate instructions or steps to their foreign guests.

Breakfast options limited. Cereal was available but it was high in sugar. Some decent muesli would have been good. Ordinary coffee. Spa area needs a good clean, mould growing in the tile grout and signs of previous mould growth on the stools in the shower area.
