APA Hotel Matsuyamajo Nishi

Comfortable and spacious rooms inside a very nice hotel. The hotel is across from the castle, making it well located too. The lobby area provides a generous amount of seating, which is great for those who want to sit and relax before or after check in.

The hotel met with expectations for the price charged.

Great Location after the Cyling, its just a few steps from the Rentale Place.

Normal Apa Hotel nothing Fancy, Hotel tries to be high Class but at the End of the Day its a normal Buiness Hotel.

The room itself was super comfortable and nice. I really appreciated the spacious bathtub. The room felt fresh and the TV provided a lot of useful information.

Albeit nitpicking i would have appreciated being able to open the window more.

The location of APA Hotel Matsuyamajo Nishi was excellent, situated right next to the park and within close proximity to Matsuyama Castle. Having a Seven-Eleven convenience store nearby was very convenient for quick snacks and necessities. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, providing good service. The breakfast options were adequate with a decent selection that satisfied my morning appetite.

My biggest complaint was the centralized heating/cooling system which left the room too hot most days, even with the windows open. This made sleeping uncomfortable at times. I was particularly disappointed to find significant mold in the bathroom, something I had never encountered before in all my travels throughout Japan. While the room itself was generally clean, it was evident that this is an older hotel with outdated facilities, especially in the bathroom area which needed renovation.

Nice location next to the park and castle. Easy to reach. Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff.

This was the first time I had visited Matsuyama. One of the reasons I enjoy Japan is the level of service that I experience everywhere. I was so tired from my travels. I was greeted by a trainee and she was so gracious. She spoke English and got me checked in so quickly. My room was so lovely. It looked out over the park across the street. the area was relatively quiet but a bit busy with traffic. The room was small but comfortably appointed. I liked the fact that I could open the window as I tend to keep warm. I slept like a baby. I needed a place to relax and just unwind - disconnect. I was able to find a grocery strore that was 5 minutes away. I got everything I needed and even an umbrella for the rain.

I did notice that the bathroom had mold - I think this is just from the hotel itself as it is an older property and the area is a wet space. I do think they could do with a very deep clean of the bathrooms just as protection against mold and possible health issues. But overall it was a clean as it could be for it's age. It is certainly time for the property to update the bathrooms and carpets in the rooms.

The proximity to Matsuyama Castle and downtown. Additionally, the trams were accessible right in front of our hotel.

Good pillows, soft and firm bed. Location was fantastic. Allowed us to pay for a late checkout.

Parking was slim and stressful, bedside light didn't work.

It’s a 10min walk to a tram station and a further 5 min walk to the start of Gintengai.

The pillows were uncomfortable to me and we could hear the wind whistling.

The APA Hotel in Matsuyama is really close to the castle & we had an amazing view of it from our hotel window. We liked that we could open the window for fresh air; there were a lot of sirens but we got used to the noise.The staff were so helpful, especially with ordering a pizza, as we speak little Japanese. The translator app is very useful!!There's a 7/11 shop & family mart very close by to the hotel.The room was small - 16sq meters but we were able to put our suitcases against the wall & use the drawers/ cupboard.We walked to the food court/ shopping mall through the park which was very pleasant & refreshing.Breakfast was included & really good.

You have to have the power on to run the fridge - room card in the switch.

Excellent location close to little restaurants and castle parkland. Helped to store our bicycles safely inside.

We had booked a room for two adults but the hotel only allowed one breakfast!

Stayed in APA in Tokyo before, the room was tiny. In comparison the Matsuyama one was very spacious and comfortable. First-class stay for the price and location. Walkable to the Matsuyama castle and public transportation.

The location was very nice. The staff are nice and friendly. The domestic staff were so lovely and helpful. Beds comfy. After 9 months of travelling Asia I needed a break for a week and doing very little, relax in peace. It was perfect.

Am iron would have been useful as casting a rucksack things tend to need a pressing but I went and bought one for the week.

Laundry facilities

Not much English spoken and breakfast was only average.

The hotel was quiet and comfortable. It is about 15 mins walk from the JR Matsuyama station. At about 5 minute walk from the hotel, there's a tram station, which takes you to Matsuyama Castle, Dogo Onsen, etc.

The hotel was a bit far from the JR train station to walk carrying luggage. During the weekends, the tram line does not go through the road where the hotel is located. The hotel itself was fine.

Nice room. Good location. A good 20 min walk to the castle/ ferris wheel & 1/2 hour bus to the Dogo Onsen & Temples.

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was functional.
