Daiwa Roynet Hotel Takamatsu

The staff on Monday afternoon around 4:00 pm (Dec. 8) assisting us with the forwarding of our luggage to the next hotel was very helpful, courteous and professional. The room clean up service was good as well.

The room that we stayed could use more shelving space.

Big room comparing with other Japan’s business hotel, helpful staffs, good location - walking distance to many shops and restaurants, great buffet breakfast

Great location which very convenient to take the bus around town and lots of shopping to walk to. While the room is small, at least there is a side table and anough space to leave suitcase open and still walk around the bed. And the windows were just washed and we had a great view of the distant mountains

Wish there were drawers in the room to put clothes away.

The hotel is right in the heart of Takamatsu, right next to the main shopping arcade and a big mall. There are plenty of food options nearby, including a McDonald's right downstairs if fast food is your thing! The rooms are also big and spacious

There is a car park on site which is connected to the hotel. The car park is part of the shopping mall which the hotel is located on top of. The elevator system is a bit archaic as you have to take one elevator down to the hotel lobby and switch to a different elevator which also serves the mall.

Very central location. Walkable to JR station and ferries to Seto inland sea islands.. Also walkable to Ritsurin garden. Good food options.Good breakfast included.

Instructions might have mentioned the hotel's reception is on the 8th floor. Found the location easily enough but from street level it is not obvious where the hotel actually is.

The hotel was located above a shopping arcade with a lobby on the upper level. Complimentary parking was available upon request. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a pleasant stay.

Very accessible to convenient stores and restaurants. Shops are also nearby for shopping.

The hotel reception was helpful and very accommodating in allowing us to change 2 single rooms into one double room without referring us to the 3rd party booking system to make the change.We, a group of 8 travellers really appreciate their service and professionalism in providing customer satisfaction.

The hotel location and breakfast are both very good.

Outdated hotel

Good location, nice size room, the staff was super helpful since they could change us to a non smoking room. Overall a great hotel.

We inadvertently selected a smoking room. Unfortunately, they couldn’t move us out, but it was no problem as a room was just fine.

Great location, close to large market, restaurants etc. Only a few stops on the bus from Takamatsu station, and 30 minutes walk to Ritsurin Park.

I’d never been to Takamatsu before, and I had really wavered over whether it would be better to stay next to the train station or more in the center of town (where the Daiwa Roynet is located.) Although the Daiwa Roynet is not a fancy place and the rooms are not large, it was big enough, clean and comfortable. And we were delighted with the location — very close to some pleasant malls. The area near the train station felt way less lively. Breakfast (at a nearby restaurant) was included, and the price felt like a real bargain.

Storage in the room is very limited, so more hooks on the walls would have been helpful.

Bad

I was very disappointed with the hotels complete inability to organise a taxi to the Takamatsu Station. The hotel is 1.3 KM from the station. If you have any early Highway Bus leaving from the station you have no option other than to catch a taxi because public transport starts quite late. The evening before I left I asked the hotel to book a cab and they couldn't, they said do it the next morning. This forced me to wake up earlier than I wanted because I then needed to have the time to walk if I had to the next morning. The next morning comes and guess what? The clown on the front desk could not call a cab because it was too early. Leaving me no option but to walk to the station with all my luggage. What a joke. In my opinion, it's the hotels job to cultivate local contacts to manage situations just like this. The worst experience I have had in a hotel in years. Also, the hallways were filthy and covered in stains of a questionable origin. This hotel provides reputational damage to the entire Diawa Roynet group.

Big room, big bath tub, good view over the roof of the shopping arcades. Excellent value for money.

The hotel was well-located in a major shopping mall and near restaurants. It is a short bus or taxi ride from the JR station and the port. The staff was very helpful and the room had everything I needed for a 5 day stay,
