Okayama Koraku Hotel

Free rental bikes, art collection throughout hotel and availability of microwave ovens and laundry facilities on certain floors. Comfortable rooms with operable windows and buckwheat pillows were a bonus, too.

Breakfast was not included.

Good value for money

The room smelled like cigarette, even though they claim it as a non-smoking room.

The room was spacious enough for one person. The location is close to the central station and convenient to get to. There are many restaurants nearby and is within walking distance to major landmarks and destinations in Okayama.

It can be a little busy and loud at night on the street but that is not the fault of the hotel.

Location is quite good.I can go by city bus, local train very easy

Could you prepare some cold drink at lobby for guests in Summer?

Decent location. About 10 min walk from Okayama station. It is close to a lot of nightlife and restaurants.

Great location. Walking distance between the train station, the museums, the Castle and big (beautiful) Korakuen Garden. Lots of convenient shopping and good restaurants in the ‘hood. Clean, comfortable, roomy (by Japanese standards) and very reasonable. Excellent breakfast.

Gorgeous Bizen ware displays behind vitrines on every floor that filled me with desire. Very hard to resist buying some but I was traveling with carry-on.

Excellent staff, location and finishes

Convenient access to JR station/shopping, easy 10-15 minute walk to Okayama Korakuen Garden & Castle. Convenience store attached to hotel. Hotel staff is professional and helpful. Even though we had do not disturb signs, cleaning staff left fresh towels in bag hanging on door knob. Comfortable, firm beds. If you are planning to have an excellent Breakfast at onsite restaurant, I’d recommend to put your name on their wait list in the morning and they will call your room when they are ready.

I would stay here again, only slight issue I encountered was that a recommended listed onsen closed early on NYE and hotel was unaware of this when I purchased admission from their desk and took taxi to facility only to find out it closed early (not stated on website). It would have been nice if hotel received information on special operating hours of their recommended places so they could inform guests. Though, I’m not sure if the early closure was planned in advanced. The front desk helped to call a taxi and was nice enough to refund the admission tickets when we came directly back from taxi ride. The unexpected early closing of the facility was a slight disappointment but the kindness of the hotel staff and even the taxi driver to help us confirm facility was closed for night made up for it.

Room is very clean and well equipped. Delicious breakfast buffet at reasonable price. Centrally situated with lots of eateries around. Good laundry room with many washers and dryers. Helpful staffs. Highly recommended.

Excellent location very clean and comfortable

The hotel is elegant with exceptional ceramics on display. There is a comfortable lounge for quiet reading.

The desk staff had NO English and were not agile in translation apps. This made tourist suggestions and directions unlikely. I would not return because of this.

great room size for the price, attached convenance store and very friendly staff

The location is very good and you can walk from the station or take the bus which stops opposite the hotel. Shops and restaurants are nearby. The staff managed with translate to give us a few recommendations and told us which ones may not be very welcoming to non-Japanese speakers. The hotel breakfast was really good and well-organized with both western and Japanese options. The room was clean and as advertised. The beds were comfy. We were sad to be staying a short while as the hotel seems like a good place for a base. It seemed popular with tourists but also with businessmen. We would like to stay here again.

The hotel is a bit dated although everything was very clean.

Located right where the action is in Nagoya, with easy access to food, drink and entertainment. The bathroom was great and the hotel was clea and fairly comfortable on the whole.

The room was really hot. Whether or not the aircon pushes out hot or cold air is set for the whole building, meaning it very hot and stuffy during the night. We were told to open the window, but because the area was so busy, there was a lot of noise.

We splurged and got the king corner room- it was huge! So many windows. And we were on top floor so great views. Breakfast buffet was good. Location 5-10 minute walk to train station. Great hotel!!

A decent hotel for a short stay. Friendly staff

The bed wasn't very comfy and the water flow in the bath was weak

Located about 5-7min walk to Okayama Station in an area that was very lively at night with a pharmacy next door. 15min walk to Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden. The rooms were large by Japan standard and both the room and bathroom were very clean. Beds were comfy and room had AC. Wifi was quick and easy to connect to. The staff were friendly and check in/out was also quick and easy. We had shipped our luggage 2 days earlier and they had left it in our rooms for us.

Great location and excellent staff.

The instructions of the laundry machines were a bit confusing.

Location was convenient to the station. It is a basic hotel, that seems to cater to conferences

Place is dated and beds are very uncomfortable. Although there are a lot of choices for breakfast. All food was cold even standing on hot plates!?
