Shangri-La Hotel, Hangzhou

Very disappointing, far from Shangr La’s standard.

Facility is old, carpet is filthy, from desk were not friendly.

The location of the hotel is unique!! Also this is a historical building with beautiful atmosphere and surroundings. The room they gave us was huge with high ceilings and beautiful windows looking at the lake. I hope to return soon

it is a little outdated but to be honest for me it was a plus!! the place has character!

Staff was helpful. I was trying to organise a birthday party for one of the group. Came out quite well.The rooms are clean and well kept, but needs updating.

Needs some updating and refurbishment.

Located in a quiet area of the West Lake and steps away from the Su and Yanggong Causeways, and directly below a hiking trail up the hills behind: this is a very romantic location. Hotel breakfast was excellent and there are also reasonable shops and restaurants nearby.

Convenience location and beautiful building.

The bedroom stank really badly of Cigarette Smoke. We tried leaving the windows open but it was too bad. I definitely wouldn’t stay in this hotel again. Ended up sick with bad sinus. Sooo bad!! Carpets were old and dirty, needs seriously cleaning or replacement.

The front desk and concierge staff are exceptional. On his personal time, a member of the concierge team went to the rail station and purchased a ticket on my behalf. Fabulou!

Location: Perfect location, next to the Xi Lake.Room: Room is ok.Breakfast: Breakfast is average, no knife.

Facility: The facilities are ancient, including the switches, the powerpoints, the shower head and everything in the room. I believe that the facilities just reached the level of a three-star hotel. three-and-half star maybe, but the price is over the five-star hotel.Not happy to pay for historical feelings.

The location is very good, almost next to West Lake where we took morning walks. Nearby there are eateries and convenience shops. The staff were very helpful to advise on places of interest and how to get there.

The housekeeping service is a bit inconsistent as same request made by me and another member had different responses. But this is minor issue.

The room seems too aged. As a lake view, only can see tiny lake.

Walking distance to the west lake, 白堤和苏堤。The staff is very helpful calling didi or taxi for us.

Not many choices of restaurants in the walking distance.

The weather was unseasonably warm and air con still set at heating mode so a bit hot.

You can literally do better by booking any other hotel in Hangzhou.

Requested a quiet room on a high floor. Given the exact opposite and possibly the worse hotel room in the entire hotel. It was noisy and the hotel room was falling apart. Example, curtains could not even close. Pillow had black insects. I would suggest to avoid this hotel at all costs. You can literally do better by booking any other hotel in Hangzhou.

The location is perfect. Room a bit pricy.

major staf from the lobby even don't know when the hotel's gym is located, luckily a girl from tea shop outside hotel knew that (best regards to her). the hotel need renovation finally, not clean and dusty close to bed, everything old inside and need to be replaced ASAP.

For those who like to walk into the most beautiful West Lake lakeside parks, there is no other hotel in Hangzhou that has a better location than this one. The staff, especially the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is great.

The food in the third floor restaurant is not quiet up to the Shangri-La standards.

If you would like to not be in the city, this is one of the best locations to be next to the West Lake.

We managed our expectation regarding a classic hotel with history, and the reality does not disappoint us.
