More than excellent service from staff and extremely helpful workers, very well located, quiet for Hangzhou, great Chinese + Western breakfast, spacious room, very fast they upgraded us due to non-working A/C in prior room, nicely decorated, not noisy

I really like the design of the hotel, and its location right by the lake is a huge plus. It was too hot to enjoy walking by the lake this time, but I’d definitely stay here again when the weather is more forgiving

The hotel arranged a tour, but despite it being clear that we don’t speak Chinese, the entire tour was conducted only in Chinese. That was disappointing.

Yurong has an excellent location and their charming staff are really very helpful. We were moist pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel fit out, the happy atmosphere of the place in its beautiful locality, and generally the easy convenience for foreign guests to communicate with staff from our limited capacity with Chinese language. What an excellent hotel! It is on my lists of ten best hotels I have enjoyed over a travel experience spanning four decades, and a working career as an architect building and renovating hotels and food and beverage venues over a similar period in Australia, Southeast Asia and Europe.

The in-house F&B offer was relatively simple, but there is a wide range of nearby cafes and restaurants that offer alternatives.

Location is excellent. Close to main sights ie. Lingyin temple, Chinese National Tea Museum. Many places to eat within easy walking distance.

Not a deal breaker but if you had heavy luggage, lack of elevator for upper floors could be a challenge.

The hotel has just been renovated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is also good. The hotel has floor heating, and the experience is very nice. I will recommend it to my friends.

Quite a distance away from main area, train station and airport. Limited eateries and convenience shops nearby.

Very quiet and peaceful location, just minutes walk from a more secluded part of West Lake. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were able to request for rooms on the 1st floor as the property is an old fashioned building with no elevator (though actually, I think there are only 2 floors anyway, but it saved us having to lug our big bags up and down).

Not the fault of the property (probably deliberate to be away from the crowds), but the location might be a bit inaccessible by public transport and not near shops and food stalls. So something to consider, unless you're driving or have a driver to bring you to and fro.

Hotel staff are very enthusiastic and supportive. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and has a great location, near West Lake. They also gave us a gift when checking out.

The friendliness of staff, the hotel decor and ggod scenary of the surrounding - good for walk and fresh air.

There is no hook for clothes in the bathroom. Has tea cup but no spoon. The tv is difficult to turn on.

Good location. In west lake scenic area and numerous buses can take you to major tourist sites. Breakfast is decent.

Bug Hotel

When we first got here, there were so many bugs in our first room that we had to switch rooms. And the comforter was so dirty that it had black spots on it from a previous guest. And in that room, the projector didn’t work. On top of this, every room comes with condoms. It’s like a glorified love hotel. After we switched rooms, we got to the nicest room they had. Also came with bugs, a TV that didn’t work, and a shower where the seal was broken and water leaked out of it. Also the pictures are misleading. The roof is all broken, the lamps outside are filled with spider webs, and the lamps look nothing like the pictures on booking(they’re not neat and pretty). And outside the window, you could see old cigarettes that previous guests left. And talking about guests, they weren’t very kind when we went to wash our clothes. Someone literally took our clothes out of the dryer, threw them on the floor, then proceeded to dry their own clothes. The best part is that only 1/2 washers work. Just choose another hotel. This place is not good, don’t trust the rating.Extra notes: I’m an exterminator in the US. These bugs they have are mainly midges, otherwise known as mayflies. They are here because of the lake being so close by. But they are in the rooms because the white lights on the hotel attract them in. If they just mainly switched the lights to yellow and invested in some pest control, maybe they wouldn’t have so many bugs. And if they remove the midges, they won’t have the amount of spiders that they have.

Location was great. The room was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. When we left the propertyto travel more, we accidentally left our iPad. the hotel contacted us and arranged for the iPad to be delivered to us at our next destination. the location is quite good. close to the lake and not crowded with tourists

the cleaning is not good. the floor of the room is dirty with lots of hairs & dust. We stayed 7 nights, not changing the bed sheets! What the worse is one day we got to leave very eralyin the morning, I requested to have someting to bite. The hotel manage only allowed to give us 2 pieces of toast of each person! No negotiable! Sucks!

Friendly staff. Lovely room - nice decor, comfortable bed. Good shower, and the high-tech toilet was great. Enjoyed the location: far from the crowds, yet easily accessible by bus. The Maojiabu area is picturesque, and the China National Tea Museum is within walking distance.

Very near Xihu, easily accessible to scenic spots and good local food

Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was yummy. The room was great, decent size and comfortable. It is in a great location to view west lake but it also is not far from the city. I would stay here again.
