Redlands Hotel & Spa

I booked the premium suite (with bar fridge and ample space) but got a room (7) with no bar fridge and a non functioning air conditioner - it was soooo hot that day Burned the whole night

Clean and location - the library / foyer was wonderful - very relaxingStaff were nice - accommodated our request for a drink after hours at 931 pm Gardens were wellManicured

AC did not work well - room was very hot and uncomfortable- when we asked for a fan they did not have any nor did they try to helpWith one - the shower hot handle kept falling off - had to request a second towel for the second guest The soaps were so small I could barely wash my face - went out and bought shower gel The bar closed at 930pm - maybe keep it open a little longer for folks to enjoy a relaxing drink

Location, Safety and comfort

No fridges in bedroom and safe was not attached to the walls and not working. Breakfast options needs improvement.

HONESTLY I DID NOT LIKE ANYTHING THIS TIME AROUND , I FELT LIKE THE HOTEL WAS DOING ME A FAVOUR BY BEING A GUEST THERE.

I WAS REALLY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE I GOT THIS TIME AROUND. WE GOT THERE CHECKED IN AND WHEN I GET TO THE ROOM, THERE IS 1 TOWEL, BAR FRIDGE IS EMPTY NO WATER, TELEPHONE WAS NOT WORKING. I THEN DECIDED I WILL ASK FOR AN EXTRA TOWEL WHEN I GO FOR DINNER OF WHICH I DID, BUT WAS NEVER RECIEVED. DINNER WAS NOT NICE , STEAK WAS HARD AND CHIPS WERE DRY, WHEN WE TOLD THE WAITER ALL HE COULD SAY WAS THAT MAYBE THE COW WAS OLD. OH WELL WE WENT TO SLEEP IN DISSAPOINTMENT. OH ALSO WE COULDNT ASK FOR THE IRON IN THE MORNING SINCE PHONE HAD NO SERVICE AND THE LANDLINE WAS SENDING US STRAIGHT TO VOICEMAIL.

Location was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

the breakfast was very disappointing - continental breakfast (R130) options were standard but limited (6 cold croissants, 6 luke warm muffins, 6 pieces of ham, small bowl of grated cheese, small platter of fruit, no jam, small portion of oats which wasn't present on the last day - this is all you see when you arrive in the dining area at the "serving table" - you almost feel too scared to take too much incase that's it for the entire hotel). No mini-bar fridge in the rooms - can't keep milk to make your own tea in the rooms.

The room is showing its age and some general maintenance is required.Although it stated Wi-Fi was available, there was none

Shaving plugs and telephones not working. Seems to be an issue in all the rooms I have used before in this facility.

Staff is warm, friendly and very helpful

The experience was a let down by the service. The staff were noticeably unfriendly, which made our stay feel unwelcoming. On the second night, the food was shockingly bad—especially considering the price we paid. They charged us R 200 for eggs on toasts. Very rude staff. To top it off, my colleague’s room hadn’t been properly cleaned, as the previous guest’s trash was still in the bin. Disappointing for a hotel of this standard.

Style and location. We did not eat there.

The room was nice and large but very sparsely furnished – having only a single desk chair and bed. For two people I would have expected to see at least two lounge chairs – perhaps for watching TV without having to lie on the bed.Furthermore the general state of both the room and bedding was a little tatty. For instance our pillow cases were frayed and had definitely seen their best days.

Adequate but disappointing!

I had to ask for a second towel. The booking was for my husband & I. There was only one bottle of water. I had to ask for more coffee as we had had a cup in the afternoon and there was none left for the morning cup. Coffee was brought but no milk !! When one is paying almost R2000 for a bed with no breakfast included, you would expect that there would be decent china, but the rooms only had thick continental china. Not good enough! We opted then to go out for breakfast.

The location and rooms were nice.

The reception and restaurant staff were not very welcoming or attentive. Breakfast service in the restaurant was slow, whilst the restaurant was not full. The overall experience was not very pleasant and regardless of how much we liked the rooms and the convenience of the location of the hotel for the purpose we travelled, I will not return to the hotel.

Wonderful place to stay , staff are always welcoming. The rooms are a good size, Wifi works well & The Restaurant & Bar has a large variety of options. The pool was lovely to enjoy some time in the sun.

The attitude of the staff. It was as though we were a burden to them, and unwelcome

The breakfast was delicious but it was not included in the R2051 per night room we booked, this was disappointing

There were two of us and we only had access to 1 single towel, it took over 12 hours for them to return the other towel that they took in for washing. The room service meal I ordered from the hotel menu arrived cold. The wifi signal was patchy and unreliable, had to take my computer to the lobby to connect

Lucrecia was the best staff member - she went out of her way to make sure my partner's special occasion was 100% arranged.

The breakfast room was no very welcoming
