lovely stay was had, food was good and inexpensive, the breakfast was nice nd early and great value. late check put is a nice touch.

Close to the highway

The smoke smell from the casino , noise from casino patrons early hours of the morning

We stayed just for one night, for my son participating in the Midmar Mile swimming event. 4-star hotel, easy access to the highway. The room is well appointed. The breakfast selection was good. The use of underground parking is appreciated. The aircon works well.

Only one bottled water; the decor is a bit dated; the TV does not have YouTube and Netflix built in. The twin room was not set up on arrival.

Unhappy customer

Reception staff and manager was very unhelpful when they couldn't find booking.com receipt payment., expected me to call booking.com directly only to find it .

One of the food place where we had our lunch ,they don't use plates ,they use paper. I don't like take away when I am eating in.

I didn't like the fact when I went to breakfast the fish fingers were in the same Shafer as the chicken Sausages since I am allergic to sea food I could not have then so I asked the server y there where in the same Shafer they said they don't know also but

The breakfast seemed d to be less staffed leading to long waits for coffee and other hot drinks. They should consider a self service coffee station

1. Electric fly-catcher dirty and not working2. Lot's of flies buzzing around in the dining area, serving counter, and food prep area3. View from the room was dismal as it overlooked a shabby blue-stone patch with litter and ill-maintained walls4. The condition of the loungers in the patio breakfast area were tatty5. Roofs, fascias, and gutters look shabby6. The only big positive was the good, friendly staff. Other than that the Golden Horse was typically a 3 star hotel.

We booked for Christmas dinnerWe arrived at 18 30 pmAnd at 20 01 pm everything was picked up from the buffet This was definitely not enough time to eat as we were a party of 18 family members Very disappointed

The staff were friendly at the hotel and stay was comfortable.

The bedding was stained, and the staff at the toasty Cafe were rude.

It was a special day as our daughter got engaged.I called the hotel to do something small for them.Could not help at all.Very unhelpful.

There is very little to complain about. The stay was only overnight. Having said that, it reached my expectations and more. I would definitely use the place again.

Staff friendliness

Breakfast is included in the price. I could not go for breakfast as I have morning meetings online. When i ask them to deliver it in the room i had to pay a full price, and yet when i asked that they remove breakfast from my room they did not have that option. so it was broad day light robbery and the first and i spend a lot of time in hotels. The room rate was already R1750 which is far above average for the type of facility and i had to pay extra for breakfast which was already included. I almost paid R10k in 5 days and there were still no concessions
