Lack of cleanliness: Upon arrival at the hotel we had to ask the staff twice to replace the bedsheets, pillowcases, pillows (blackened by sweat/grime) AND clean the bathroom, which had a smell of urine & naphthalene (insecticide NOT to be touched with bare hands) and a shower full of mold! To top things off, after 2pm of the checkin day there was an unbearable smell of turpentine in our room from unannounced-to-us paintworks on our floor. We had no option, but to leave the hotel for a good 3 hrs until the smell subsides, upon agreement with management that these works had to stop, as they presented a health hazard to guest like us AND staff alike! Breakfast options were very limited, with staff not maintaining basic hygiene (i.e., when requested some tea they stopped their snacking, opened a box and pulled a bag with their hands dropping it in a cup, adding hot water to top). The manager did try to “comfort” us with a basket of snacks, which we left aside, as I feel a moral obligation to protect fellow travellers by providing our negative experience at this establishment, that needs to work a lot to meet basic standards of hygiene, sanitisation & cleanliness..

Brrakfast was good. Location is good for people travelling without personal car.

Communication pre reservation to be much clearer.

I was booked the hotel Rivera palace first time my experience was very good ??All staff was very helpful food was very tasty and fresh.Hotel provide me cab for local sightseeing and evening boating and everything good.Hotel plus point that hotel near the ganga ghat only 100 metres from the hotel.If you searching best hotel in Varanasi the you should to book hotel Rivera palace and enjoy your journal.Room was very good and washroom was also clean.Hot water, tea cattle, toiletries, power backup, elevator.

Poor breakfast and the lift was not operational and there were frequent power cuts

Poor stay experience.

Untidy rooms. Lift not working. Water supply only 2 hrs a day. Approach to the hotel pathetic and stinking with open sewage. Even after staying there and being in possession of the receipt, stay shown as cancelled with reason that we didn’t turn up. Property rating overhyped and may be manipulated. Beware of this property.

Breakfast almost same every day and not match with hotel price poor level they serve 4 night stay there only one pack of bread use no fresh and fruits same position

The waiting staff were excellent and very attentive.

We booked onto two tours, one for the city tour and one for the morning aarti. However, we were disappointed with both. The driver for the aarti was late, so we missed the aarti and didn't go on a boat trip. The city tour felt rushed and although our guide was knowledgeable about religion, he felt the quality of information about the city was lacking.

Location is in a narrow road where it’s hard for taxis to go in. Breakfast is not up to the mark and same menu everyday.

- Only vegetarian food is available- No separate dinning area .It is a shared space at the entrance-No windows in the room

The ambience and food, though the hotel property is a bit inside from main road in narrow gullies.... But the ambience inside is great and buffet breakfast was also good ...

We had to drag our suitcases from main road to hotel where narrow road did not have access to hotel. That narrow road is all nasty. One Receptionist was almost rude but he needs more training. For bag packers this hotel is good not for families who have suitcases.

Room was spacious and clean. Staff was courteous.Food was served hot, though we reached hotel late in the evening, after 09:30 pm.

Approach road was very narrow. Car/Taxi cannot go to the Hotel entrance, and you will have to carry your luggage from Main road to Hotel.Food was average, as Roti was very hard to eat.Ghats were at a walkable distance, but the roads were so narrow and dirty that it's not worth walking, and it's better to go by Auto from main road. Price was too high for the value it offers.

Finding a hotel in Varanasi which has lift specially if you are travelling with Senior citizen or someone with disabilities is very difficult. This hotel has lift. They also have fire safety measures. Please don't worry at all if you have never been to Varanasi before. They will help you in everything possible. They will also arrange auto or tuk tuk at 1am for Mangal aarti. Hot water is switched on upon request anytime.Very safe place to stay and specially if you stay in hotels that are on main road, you cannot sleep due to honking this city has. This hotel is 700 meters away from main road and peaceful. They also arrange pick from railway station or airport at additional cost.

The service is great and staff is good but I guess they should add more items in breakfast. Very limited options.The room service was slow but once I reported they fixed it immediately. Overall I would strongly recommend this place.

Staff in primis, very friendly. They did help us in everything, from exchange money to arrange transport to the Airport.The hotel is very close to assi ghat. Breakfast was good, room big and clean.

My room didnt have a window, but I just was unfortunate because the room next to mine had one.

the hoteliers extracted extra money than the specific amount mentioned while booking.

Location is central. Car doesnt go in but hotel staff helps you carry the luggage. Food is ok. Mosquito plug was thoughtful.

Hotel cleaning is horrible. The hotel is pretty dirty. They only wipe floors. No vacum cleaner. So there is old dust dirt around corners. If you look closely there is hair :(( sheets are stained. Pillows and beds are slightly smelly. Beds are old. You can feel the iron. Bed head wall and doors full of stains. Bathroom tile and corners have blackened silicone and mold. Aircon is loud and smelly. The fan in the room is ok but too loud to sleep with. Windows dont open, even if you get them open there is so much filth outside of it, i cannot begin to describe. I booked 3 nights. Wanted to cout due to dirtiness as soon as i arrived. Hotel staff made effort for me to stay. Promised to fix everything. But I couldn't stand it. We informed staff we would c/out 1 night before and just stay 2 nights on our day of arrival. They refused to return us our money despite the poor service. Not cool.
