Shanti Guest House - Manikarnika Ghat

The location in the old town of Varanasi is pretty good. It's not super easy to find in the winding streets but that's all part of being in Varanasi.

We stayed here 20 years ago and not a single thing has been done to improve the property, in fact, our room was worse than the one we stayed in 20 years ago. The rooms were basic, which was expected, but the bathrooms were dark and dirty. The entire property is dirty, the third floor had a massive jumble of broken furniture just laying in the hallway space. No screens on the windows which meant that mosquitos were in the room, no mosquito nets provided or even space to hang the ones we brought with us. The wifi didn't work on the 4th floor so we had to come down one floor to get wifi (which was kindly provided free of charge). Staff were unable to help us with basic directions to get around the city. I would not stay here again, I would not recommend.

Shanti Guest House Tak Jane ka Rasta bahut hi Sakri Gali , Ganda aur Steps (Sldhiya)comfortable nahi hai. Laudge ke under bhi Lift Nahi Hai aur Steps comfortable nahi hai Room tak jane ke liye.

No lifts available and the stairs were crooked and steep.

Staff is very helpful they even provide food in late night.

If you want ac room and have old person then I'll not recommend this because they have ac room from 3rd floor and no escalator so you have to go through stairs that is not possible for old ones and also this hotel is in interior side so if have problem going there then go with other one.

This guest house locate in hill, no one riksha and taxi don't go to it. In the room isn't elementary comfort. Not table, not chair, nothing for keep of wear. Impossible take tea and water even.near no one coffee or place to take a lunch. The price very big, near others guests houses with more comfortable conditions and in two times less charge.

The condition of the room does not match The photos on Booking. Dirty sheet, not cleaned up - in the Pictures these black spots are dead mosquitoes. Bathroom in terrible condition - different from The photos of the host. Upstairs shared kitchen - tragic. And The terrace - I knew that in Varanasi burn bodies, a bonfire on the terrace is an exaggeration. Before The night we moved out - too many attractions in the hotel for us.

It's a nice place to stay. You are right next to the Ganga tivee in the middle of everything. The staff was super friendly. They even let us check in after midnight. They were very helpful and polite. I definitely recommend this place.

I did not check into the room I booked because it was in 6th floor and no lift. Very narrow steps, with aged parents, very difficult. As said, it is near to Manikarnika ghat, but the narrow paths of Varanasi can be confusing. Not a good choice if ur planning for comfortable stay and experience. Have to walk around 10 min. to come to main road.

I did not like anything here personally. Only advantage being near to ghat to take the holy dip.

The staff is good and vintage style guest house. From the terrace you can see ganga ghar and corridor of kashi Vishvanath temple.

It's far from chowk. Narrow roads u can't take auto rickshaws anything. Very poor rating for senior citizens. Not good for them. Steps are huge. While walking on narrow roads you may encounter with dead bodies (taken them for Cremation) as it's very near to manikarnika ghat. Not recommended for Senior citizens and children. No hot water for bath.

Horrible. Construction work is going on. No value for money. Staff so non co-operative

The blanket and Ventilation system was over ruled . Hotel staff have to look over this.

It is good .. but there is no table and mirror in the room. There is only one mirror which was in bathroom.. staff was good.. nearby manikaranika ghat and temple.. and it is located in very narrow street... the street in which you can feel the banaras..
