The best thing about this hotel is its location. Right on the banks (or ghats) of the Ganges RIver. It embodied the spirituality of this sacred river. The staff was courteous. The restaurant very good. The ambiance was magical.

I stayed here for two nights and had a very good experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was polite and helpful, the room was spacious, and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The location was also convenient, which made the stay even better.

There was nothing specific to dislike. Overall, everything went smoothly during our two-night stay, and the experience was pleasant.

The Location of Suryauday overlooking the Ganga. I chose view of Ganga from my room. The window was small but ok. easy access to the Ghat anytime. Not too crowded.

To reach the Hotel you have to walk a bit through the lanes. This is an old city so mostly are through by lanes. People with wheelchair will find it difficult. Though the Hotel is very helpful and have porters for the luggage.

Some required urgent repairs were needed to my bathroom while I was there. No direct access to main roads causing issues for arrival or departure - they have alternative methods

Located by the Ganges on the Ghat as described and best accessed by boat. The ghats are unkempt and water/ air was more polluted than we expected. The hotel is small with roughly 15 rooms, restaurant on site has good vegetarian food. They have evening tea and free evening boat ride to the Aarti. They also have classical music performers every evening. The staff is plentiful and mostly courteous.

Access to the hotel can be very problematic for elderly guests.

A small hotel with an excellent location & wonderful staff. Located right on Shivala ghat with direct access to the ganges. The highlight is the boat trip to check one in and the complimentary boat trip for the evening rituals at a nearby ghat

Location was fabulous. On the ghat with a private entrance to the ghat steps . Walking distance from Assi Ghat , Sankat Mochan temple . We even walked along the ghats to Kashivishwanath temple and Manikarnika Ghat . Staff was extremely polite and well behaved. Property was kept meticulously clean

No balconies to the rooms . Ganga facing rooms also had a very small window. Pillows in the room were hard and impossibly thick which made sleep uncomfortable.

The location was excellent. Staff well trained. Food was very good. I really enjoyed my stay at the property. Well worth the money. We enjoyed our stay and the property is so close to the Ghats.

The only minus is that your car can't come to the property but the staff will pick you up and will bring you to the property. My luggage was a little heavy so I felt a little bad as the staff had to carry my heavy luggage all the way in.

Great location. Direct access to the ghats. Very personalised service. Tasty food. Decent sized rooms and spacious bathrooms. Couldn’t ask for more.

Other than the access for the last couple of 100 mtrs all good. But I guess with narrow lanes approaching the ghat section in general, it should be expected.

The room size was great. Bed was comfortable.The bathroom was also very big and all amenities were top notch.They have a direct access to the shivala ghat. Also the ghat and ganga view from the common hotel balcony is very nice.

Breakfast starts at 7am which is really late given that this is Varanasi where usually ppl will like to go out early to catch the morning activities at the ghat. Also there is no 24 hour kitchen available. Even a coffee with some simple food wasn't available from their kitchen at around 1230am after we returned from Kashi vishwanath temple. I was asked to just use the hot kettle in room to make the coffee, but after 4 hours of queueing up at Kashi vishwanath temple, i was too tired. Plus was hungry too. Given the amount they are charging, it was really surprising that even simple things like a biscuits or chips was not available, even when you are more than willing to pay extra!Also this place is not accessible by car and needs an auto for access. The property needs to have a dedicated buggy in place for their guests. Instead we have to depend on the auto guys on the road.

The location is great. There is a pleasant music performance every day. The hotel quality is decent in Varanasi.

The AC quality needs to be improved.

Breakfast service was very poor, table not laid with crockery. Even after asking still inside plate or knives.

The walk down the dirty back lanes to get to the hotel. We arrived at night so a bit taken aback. Breakfast average for the western palate. No bar for those who would like a beer or wine
