Palace on Ganges Hotel

Hotel needs to be updated.. lack of natural light, lack of consistent hot water, lack of good ventilation in rooms, need better beddings, the floors just looked dirty even though it was swept daily but not mopped. Buffet dinning was dark &appetizing,

The location, food, and general atmosphere were all positive.

The lighting and electricity in room were tricky. It was all or nothing.

Food was good, location is walkable to assi ghat and ganga arti. The book store at assi ghat is recommended. Staff were attentive.

no elevators, front desk can be more prepared with local travel arrangements to temples and such.

Location was good, accessible to Assi ghat.

Very noisy outside till late night and starting from early morning. Difficulty sleeping.

not a single thing... we kinda had no choice but stayed as all the other accommodations around were fully booked. If you want to stay around here, the best hotel is Hotel Ganges View (Search for them on the map. It's right next to this horrible hotel)

Room is dusty and no ventilation. Staffs were unhelpful and lied about the room and about my missing belongings. It's a miracle that we survived this hotel.

Not worth paying this money for the hotel , extremely congested area and poor rooms

Location and heritage character of the property.

Not a friendly property for disabled or injured people. Steps to be climbed for accessing the rooms and restaurants. There is no elevator. It’s understood that lift which is under installation.

Beds were very hard

1. The nostalgia of revisiting the hotel after 4 years and they have updated it a lot.2. The superb location and the view of Ganges is to die for from the roof specially when it’s raining.3. Excellent courteous and helpful staff. Mr. Sashi was waiting for my late check in around 11.40 PM. Someone helped me with my printouts and even rushed to give me the receipt which I was forgetting on the desk while leaving.4. The cook specially prepared veg sauté as per my request. It was wonderful to taste.

1. Nagaland room needs good paint on the walls.2. Bathroom lacks hand towel hanger and wall hanger for bath towel.3. Mosquito net of the bathroom window needs to be replaced.4. I felt the room was overpriced where I have stayed.

Staff , location , building architecture,potential of what it can truely be .

Cleanliness in corridors is abysmal . Lacks hygiene.Massive let down from the potential it has

This property is very close to assi ghat and you can enjoy Ganga aarati from here.Staff is very supportive and they guide you best.

As it is heritage property, lift is not available now but work is in progress so can be available in few months.

Location was good, as in right at the Assi Ghat, which is the starting point of all Ghats. One could see the river from one room on top floor. Food preparation was good but choice was limited

Rooms are not airy or well designed. Staff is not really helpful. Though the rates are high, it does not provide luxury or comfort. Despite booking through Booking.com, the hotel wanted upfront payment, months in advance. You need to take the stairs to the top most room which is the 5th floor. This fact is not clarified in advance

Excellent location, amazing decor, very helpful and courteous staff. AC works well, washroom was clean, bed was comfortable, TV had enough channels. Less than 25 metres from the ghats of Tulsi and Assi. Lots of eateries nearby.

1. Food options could have been made better. Had to pay 300INR for breakfast but since it was after 10:30am and they serve breakfast till 11am, they did not bother to reheat the items or restock the buffet. I mean, if you are taking full payment for the food, you should ideally serve properly irrespective of the time.2. I stayed in the lower floor "Bengal". Now all is fine in this room except two things. There is a ventilation panel on a side wall which might be completely closed but does give off privacy violation vibes. Sealing or covering that part up might reassure guests. Second, the washroom has no ventilation at all and the only window is sealed with newspaper. Also, there must be a common or staff toilet adjacent to that window since you can hear loudly whenever someone uses that toilet(and vice-versa I assume)..again, a bit of a privacy issue which can be easily sorted by the management.

The location was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Facilities in the room was not commensurate with the prices being charged. Breakfast was average. There is no lift in this hotel to go up the floors.

On 1 to 10 I would rate it at 4

Hot items were Luke warm… very little variety …. and hotel is vegetarian

Didn’t take breakfast. The main bonus point of this hotel is its location!

The restaurant is not so well kempt and not inviting. Though I had sandwiches and cold coffee , it was delicious!

For the mentioned reasons I do not recommend this place - it clearly thrives on its location only, all else is of poor q

Unlike advertised most of the rooms are small, run down and in the basement without any daylight!I had originally planned to stay for 2 nights but due to an emergency had to return to Delhi a day earlier. Although I told this the hotel management before the first night (!) and asked for at least a modest compensation for staying only one instead of 2 nights, they didn’t show any understanding and refused to even compensate a small / symbolic amount.

I was charged for two separate beds and it was in the booking. Once we arrived it was one bed. It was rather uncomfortable as a young Bhuwa for me to sleep in the same bed with my nephew.

Made us believe there are two beds and there were only one bed. I paid extra and this was embracing. Very unethical.
