The staff and their professionalism mixed with the human touch was a definite standout.

Food quality and taste was good in banquet halls

The staff was money minded, harassing us for peanuts amount of money and giving our suite rooms to another customers since we were delayed and absolutely no support on complaints resolution.

Location

Sleep was disturbed as some sort of bug was disturbing in my sleep. WiFi was not connecting and waited long time for the staff to assist but no one turned up.

Best part of the hotel was its Food, the food was excellent, the room was also specious. It was a value for money. The staff at restaurant, home service was also excellent. The billing counters were prompt. Room service was also prompt. The gym was also very good.

Everything was fine.

Large rooms

Check-in took almost 15 mins......too long. Receptionist did not co-operate with 2 guests including me to advise medicine availability. She probably needed more training which management seems did not provide to get work done efficiently.Room decor was like a budget hotel, no value for money.Room was not cleaned until 4 pm on the first day. After cleaning, the cups were left uncleaned.Filter coffee was served cold for breakfast. Server was hesitant to give a new one.

Confusing communication before our arrival about amount to pay in advance. The noise isolation in the room is not the best, we could hear the noise in the street.

Very comfortable rooms, a well equipped gym and good location. Lived up to the high standards of the group.

Room smelled of cigarette smoke

We stayed at Vivanta Kolkata, EM Bypass on 12 December 2025 as a group of five, including my wife, our two young children, and my elderly mother. Overall, our experience was very pleasant, and we all enjoyed the stay.I would especially like to appreciate the banquet manager, Mr. Alamgir, who was an exceptional professional and, more importantly, a wonderful human being. He promptly helped us change one of our rooms after my wife reported an issue, even though we had already used the room for some time. His willingness to assist went beyond expectations—he even helped us make advance payments for bookings at other locations through GPay, which was extremely kind and helpful.

The stay itself was outstanding, with comfortable rooms and warm hospitality. However, there were a couple of minor areas where improvement is needed. During checkout, my mother, who is nearly 70 years old, could not find any seating in the ground-floor lobby and had to stand for over 20 minutes, which was uncomfortable for her. Additionally, despite requesting luggage assistance through the intercom well in advance, it took more than 20 minutes for the luggage to be brought down. This was a bit disappointing, especially since there was no visible rush at the reception at that time.

The curtains had to always be drawn, since the room looks into another residence across the road. As a result the room was always lit artificially.

The staff went above and beyond to help my parents ( both are seniors) to help them with the food and transportation. They were always available and helped in every way. They even packed food for their flight journey.Overall a big Kudos to everyone and special mention to Shanu, the Buffet staff and the Transport team. THANK YOU

The hotel was decent, good staff, excellent spread of breakfast, very well located.

The passage to the rooms was full of cigarette smell.Better if the floor can be divided accordingly. Makes you feel very uncomfortable.

Location close to the VFS Centre & the good restaurants.Great breakfast spread. Nice views of the City and not some alley. Warm helpful staff. Overall, money's worth.

Very upset with the cleanliness of the bathroom fixtures, especially faucets, etc. Someone please install proper signage on the operation of the electrical fixtures. May I also add that I just received a courtesy call from the Vivanta Team regarding my comments, and they promise to take care to clean the faucets, oil the sliders on the drawers and provide better signage for those lights above the bed. Cheers guys. I shall be back again.

Very reponsive staff whether it is front desk coffee shop, restaurant, gym or housekeeping. Very good for both business and leisure travel.

Wish there was some Spa facility

Staff refused to charge the card I gave through Booking.com and forced my guest to pay personally who came to attend my mother’s funeral. Despite me asking multiple times over phone to charge my card on system, they said they only do that when someone doss not show up but if the person shows up they will not use that card..you lost my business forever due to such wrong practices. The lady who talked to me had no empathy or customer service mindset.

Very clean and pretty

The water in the pool was a bit cold , but I quickly got used to it.

Excellent location, very nice and clean room and fantastic dinner and breakfast. The hotel staffs were also very polite and helpful. Strongly recommended if you are for a short stay for work or otherwise and need to go to the southern part of the city.

The elevators need a bit a renovation I think.

Location

The first room I was checked into had a very mouldy damp smell . The second room had the same smell . I guess it’s an old property . The vents need to be checked. I’m very sensitive to smell and that day I was having a bad flu and I still could smell it . I even thought maybe it’s the room freshner but it was not . I guess for housekeeping staff they are use to the smell and don’t think of it different . Otherwise my stay was good and the food was good too .

Very friendly and helpful staff! We like this location a lot and have been staying here many times . We recognize many staff and they also know us.
